I didnt think this Joker could get any worse but they actually did it.
He's so ****ing over the top, it feels as if Ayer told Leto "just improvise this" most of the time.
Please Affleck, fix this.

Plus, as some guessed , it's even worse than what we got . He's ****ing ANNOYING. Sure , The Joker can be a nuisance to other characters, but to be so unbearably irritating in a legitimate manner to the audience themselves ? That's another thing entirely...

With a proper script and direction, not to mention a visual redesign, the DCEU Joker is salvagable.

I mean, I never blamed Leto at all for this. I've seen what he can do in other roles, as we all have. This was something I think he was directed to do. Maybe it's his interpretation of the character, whatever.

I think he needs a more nuanced script and a director with a stronger vision who can reign him in when he goes of the deep end. One thing I agree with Grace Randolph, an improviser Leto is not. The design and Leto on the whole still work for me.

I just don't understand why WB approved this design. Joker's clothes in some artworks and designs... I guess they wanted something from Tyler Durden's wardrobe but those tattoos and grills... Ugh.

In hindsight, while I like the grills, they are problematic from a performance POV. He clearly had problems speaking with them as a lot of his dialog is clear ADR.

Yeah. Honestly I believe 4/5 of his lines are ADR. And for some reason they added those "mmmmm" sounds to all his scenes.

They gave him an animistic quality, in his movements and in the way he sounds. Some times like a cat, or a snake or even a shark. IDK, on the whole, I like the chooses he makes, it's that there is no context to it. God, I want a Mad Love movie so bad.

Granted, Joker is a fun character when he interacts with others, but when he's taunting Batman is when he really is in his wheelhouse. We need to see Leto doing that with Batfleck.

Should've shut it down the moment this came in lol

The funniest for me is that Robbie is like the same height as Leto in real life - even after bulking up, he doesn't look bigger then her- let alone that height/size difference

That picture is ridiculous lol

That looks like bad fan art. I'm absolutely shocked that a multi-billion dollar film studio has concept artists who churn out **** like that working for them.

Mark Hamill interview: http://www.polygon.com/2016/11/16/13649874/mark-hamill-star-wars-batman-joker-dc-marvel

Asked what he thought of Jared Leto’s portrayal of the manic, deranged, murderous clown, in Warner Bros. Suicide Squad, Hamill said that he loved his performance, adding that he hasn’t seen an interpretation yet that’s made him go, "That was terrible." Instead, Hamill explained, the key to enjoying different iterations of the character was to look for what that version needed to be in that moment. Jack Nicholson’s Joker, Hamill said, was very different from Heath Ledger’s simply because it had to be.

"Everyone brings a different spin to the character and you have to look at each script separately," Hamill said. "I don’t think there’s a definitive version of the Joker and I don’t think there can be. It’s like Hamlet, really. It’ll be constantly redefined."

Hamill doesn't strike me a someone who would say something negative about much things to the media.

After watching some of the extended clips (the one with Harley chasing after Joker stood out the most), I am convinced that the Joker was not just terribly written/directed, but Leto also gave a DREADFUL performance. Honestly, what the **** was that?

They really need to reign things in with The Batman or I'm bailing on these films completely.

Sorry, I'm just really disappointed in the overall direction of these great characters.

Yeah, obviously , Hamill isn't gonna rip into the guy or anything...

Agreed. I want to see what Leto can really do while interacting with Batman and underneath a director who has a better understanding of the character.

I still don't think he needs a total redesign. Just get rid of the jewelry. And keep him in a purple tux most of the time.

I feel as if he doesn't wanna say anything negative about another actor playing Joker so as not to appear unprofessional or get **** about it from DC/WB.

Agreed. His answer sound very diplomatic when he say there no wrong version of Joker.
