The Martian Manhunter is no longer a member of the Justice League. It's core members are Superman, Batman and Wonder-Woman, with The Flash and Green Lantern being essential as well. Aquaman, Cyborg, Green Arrow and others could wait.

A human villain could be a good idea, but it's impossible to have a "dark" Justice League. Sure, they shouldn't be cheesy, but they need to know the balance between the seriousness and lightheartedness.

I agree. But Waller isn't exactly villanous as she is manipulative and extremist. Lord should be the one pulling the strings, in my opinion.

Waller is a villain. Sure her intentions mean well, but she's still a villain

and i think the lineup should be
Supes
Bats
Wondy
GL
Flash
Aquaman (should be referred to as Orin)
Manhunter (just called J'onn)

The only cast members in Justice League I knew were Hammer, Brody, Yelchin, and Common. I was cool with all of them. Baruchel? Not so much.

As a Batman fan, I would have hated Hammer as Batman. He is way too baby-faced and youthful to be convincing in the role.

Especially after we already had Bale playing the Year One Batman to audiences.

There are abandoned projects that had potential to be good:
- Goyer's Flash
- Whedon's Wonder Woman

JL:M wasn't one of them. It was a trainwreck in the making

Hammer seems like he could be the live-action version of DCAU Batman if he wanted to act the role that way with no problem.

Don't know anything about Goyer's Flash. And Whedon's WW didn't sound that good to me.

Goyer's Flash would have had Ryan Reynolds as Wally West taking over after Barry's death. It would have been darker and get more into the science side of things while also touching on the legacy aspect of the character and been inspired by the runs by Mark Waid and Geoff Johns.

I think that cast with some changes could have looked better -

I was fine with these choices

Megan Gale as Wonder Woman

Adam Brody as Flash.

Common as Green Lantern

Jay Baruchel as Lord Maxwell.

But did not Like Armie Hammer as Batman and DJ Cotrona as Superman, I would have preferred even Manganiello (or Cavill / Routh.) as Superman.

If you're just referring to the cast, you're right. But the Mulroneys' script was well-reviewed, that wasn't the problem. I was fine with George Miller directing. The cast, however, was the problem.

Miller's casting choice was a mixed bag. I was fine with Megan Gale, Adam Brody, Teresa Palmer, and possibly Jay Baruchel in the film. Maybe even Armie Hammer as Batman, depending on the costume Weta Workshop whipped up for him. But D.J. Cotrona and Common as Superman and Green Lantern... a world of no.

Derek Luke would've been a perfect John Stewart and possibly Henry Cavill as Superman (before he got the role for real) in JLM. Those two plus who Miller had already cast would've been a decent ensemble. I'd been fine with that.

I heard there was a major review of the Goyer script for the Flash that someoen posted up here but I can't find it... anyone know where it might be or if the script is available to read? I hear it was a pretty killer script.

A JL movie only needs the four core characters. I suggest Cavill as Superman and a new actor as Batman. WW and MM are the others.

I would already have them operating for a few years so they are pretty comfortable in their roles. Batman is the main strategist and Superman the field leader. To make Batman more convincing he should operate in the dark, Supes, WW, MM go in through the frontdoor Batman always takes the backdoor.

The tone of the movie should be dark, the main antagonist should be a human. Very powerfull, maybe a high placed G-man gone bad and able to control satelites (skynet kinda thing)...

and i think the lineup should be
Supes
Bats
Wondy
GL
Flash
Aquaman (should be referred to as Orin)
Manhunter (just called J'onn)
I don't mind how many characters they choose to go with (even if 4). Whatever works. 7 characters are a lot to introduce with no prequel films but if it was going to be 7 I'd have the same guys in.

Based on what we saw in The Social Network, I'd disagree. He looks more in line with the age of the DCAU Robin than Batman.

He was way too young then for Batman.

i would have preferred hammer as supes. although clark is an alien, i think hammer has a farm boy quality to him as well as the booming voice and imposing figure to be supes. that cast was a mess for sure though.

i think darkseid would have been cool as the first jl villian, followed by luthor and every heroes rogues gallery in a public enemies type of deal where supes would have to deal with doomsday, followed by a kingdom come adaptation to round out the trilogy.

Ughh this movie is never gonna happen. Well at least 5 years from now.

What's interesting is that Avengers II will probably come out around the same time as the Batman reboot.

Goyer's Flash would have had Ryan Reynolds as Wally West taking over after Barry's death. It would have been darker and get more into the science side of things while also touching on the legacy aspect of the character and been inspired by the runs by Mark Waid and Geoff Johns.

I really wanna read that script or at least see a detailed review for it

I'm not sure whether it was a rumor or truth, but I remember hearing Goyer had Robert Patrick in mind for Leonard Snart/Captain Cold and Bradley Cooper as Hunter Zolomon/Zoom.

Quite possible. I think WB will try to turn Batman around in 3 years and isn't Avengers 2 already tentatively set for 2015?

It would be an interesting match-up.

Odds favorite are that TDKR beats TA this summer. Given the awesome reviews TA is getting and the trailers I think it's actually possible that TA could come out on top.

In any case, TA is going to be huge and will launch another Marvel character or 2 into solo franchises.

At this rate Marvel is going to have so many successful franchises they will have to stop the 2 year turnaround to a sequel. Which is nice but marvel is getting to the point where they have "too" much product. A nice problem to have.

I think they could easily do an JL origin film based off the new 52 JL origin story.

Please no. I have never been so bored by 7 superheroes fighting the most powerful being in the universe.

HAvent read it but Darkseid is the villain right? Idk I think they should do something other than an alien invasion/alien enemy

Im thinking
JL: OMACs or some robot force
JL II: Injustice League/Legion of Doom/Whatever you wanna call it mixed with Tower of Babel (kinda like the recent Justice League: Doom DTV)
JL III: Earth 2/World's Collide

Final Crisis isn't an normal alien invasion. It's a kind of body snatchers deal. Also, right up until the end. The bad guys win, it's the first and only time anyone battles the true Darkseid, and he is entirely fearsome. He makes Wonder Woman succumb to a virus that turns people into Furies, he gets Hal Jordan and Superman offworld and critically injures John Stewart. He makes an army of Batmen, kills Martian Manhunter and enslaved one half of the population of the planet, all while his very existence destroys and pollutes all of existence.

"Final Crisis" doesn't really translate into a movie. "Rock of Eternity", maybe.

Johns' post-New 52 Justice League would be a great movie.
