Supergirl Katie McGrath IS Lena Luthor!

I don't see the Barbara thing either, or Amber Heard. But I do see a little Kiera resemblance.

Totally accurate... :)

She actually reminds me of a young Madonna circa the 80s and 90s. Just put blonde hair on her . I can also see the Keira Knightly and Erin Richards comparisons as well.

I was quite impressed with her performance in "Medusa." Never seen her before (other than her brief appearance in Jurassic World I guess), but she's rocking this role, imo. After all this time, I would STILL believe Lena to be either good or evil at this point, lol. She just keeps walking that line of ambiguity perfectly.

Like Tess Mercer did in Smallville. Since she's adopted, I wouldn't be surprised if her real name is Lena Thorul.

That would be dumb if that's her real name which is just Luthor backwards. Maybe her real first name is Anel?

I agree.... the only other time I had seen her before this was some Hallmark Christmas movie that I don't remember the title of....lol

Katie McGrath is excellent in her role. I love her, she so frickin' hot. :ilv: :ilv:

Although I kinda knew that she was double crossing her adopted mother but Katie sold that betrayal really well. :D :D

She was great in Merlin as well.
Which is actually one of the reasons (though not the only one) why I DON'T want to see her go full-on bad. It'd be pretty much the same storyline that her character got in that show as well.

The Amber Heard thing is when she smiles sometimes. She kind of has the same naughty/ dirty little smile that Amber has. But she's mostly like Keira.

I knew she'd double cross her too, but what I mean is, I'm still not sure if it was truly for righteous reasons or more of a power play, and I love that. That said, the more I see of her, the more I REALLY hope she's being genuine. Kara needs a female friend that's not her sister, and they have great chemistry and an interesting dynamic, imo. If Lena could stay mostly good with a side of minor shadiness but be an actual loyal friend to Kara, that would be ideal to me.

Yeah her being more shady and ruthless/willing to go further than Kara (which could lead to the occasional argument/disagreement between them), but still fundamentally decent and well-intentioned, would be best imo.

What if she just turns out to be a bad girl in bed, and tries to get it on with Chyler?

BTW, here is her ice bucket challenge from a couple of years back:

I had watched it before, but didn't know who she was at the time, so only took note of it for Natalie Dormer. Now it's like watching some new footage because it has Katie in it.

Yes. I hope they don't go the Smallville route, where Clark and Lex started out as BFFs and eventually became mortal enemies. Been there, done that, CW.

Well not only that, but Kara and Lena aren't exactly BFFs anyway. It would be more like Kara and Cat becoming mortal enemies, since Cat was Kara's mentor and someone she looked up to.

I kind of hope they avoid taking that route, too. I like that Lena seems to be the only Luthor who isn't genuinely rotten to the core. Maybe it might be better if it stays that way? I'm definitely a fan of what Katie's done thus far.

Adding an agreement here. I think it would be great if they became BFFs. Just because she's a Luthor doesn't mean she has to be evil. It would be a nice flip of the genre to have a Super have a Luthor as a best-bud.

There is foreshadowing going on about Lena however that is still very ambiguous. They might reveal that she's been bad all along but just not in league with her mother - or that as others have pointed out about the chess piece she was holding - she might be part of another agency much like the DEO. Which would be cool!:woot:

I think the second option would be more interesting & definitely far less cliché. In addition to not going the cliché "I'm evil because my whole family's evil" route, I'm also hoping that if they do follow that angle they don't end up killing off the character or some other nonsense.

I can't help but think the fact she picked up the white Rook (Knight) is the main point of that scene... she's up to something (or is about to start something bigger than conning Lillian) but that something is being done while wearing a white hat

DITTO. You may also take this back to the show's WB days.
