are those concept arts for this newest movie?

i think they look cool.

lol klaatu and gort. shouldv'e got keanu reeves to play zordon then.

Man If the megazod does appear, I hope we see a civilian/phone camera angle like this....

I must say, Pacific Rim kinda set the standard. Those fight scenes were amazing and felt real. Not any of that Bay-Formers stuff. The physics is way off and it bothers me sometimes.

I hated Pacific Rim. Maybe it was the designs or how Toro shot it or something but it felt like the lacked weight. The cockpits were cool. Something about organic monsters and hunks of metal seem like it should be an uneven fight

Man, the resemblance in these two images is uncanny.

I don't like the GORT version of Alpha. Even the 95 movie was more faithful to the TV Alpha.

In fact the 95 movie is basically a bigger budget version of the TV show with all the cheese
I'm not saying I want Alpha to look like that, but I personally like the design. Israelite said Alpha was getting a redesign at SDCC, so he's probably getting a sleek redesign either way.

Also, GORT?

He doesn't look anything like that at all, even more of a stretch than saying Zordon looked like Manhattan.

Someone else mentioned this, what if Trini is from Stone Canyon

Would be nice. And you know what? Since her last name isn't going to be Kwan, why not use 'DeSantos' (which is Rocky's last name)? I assume we won't be seeing Adam, Aisha and Rocky in these movies, so they might as well incorporate some of their traits and characteristics in the others.

Lmao I thought everyone hated the remake?

i thought the remake was just ok. doesn't hold a candle to the original day the earth stood still.

but i did think the remake's gort looked cool here.
so if alpha 5 rips off its look, i would be ok with that.

^ Oddly enough, his name on that show is "Billy".

Don't think it's all that necessary, but as well as Zack, I am curious if she'll get a new last name?

The original Yellow Ranger Trini (latin name short for Trinidad(Trinity) cast was Latina (portrayed by Audrey Dubois in the TV pilot), whose personality seems to somewhat more match the Becky Gomez movie portrayal.
Could it be there was already a Latin last name planed for the original Trini character?
If so they could actually go back to that name?

I do wonder why Latina Trini's last name change seems to come up often in this forum.
Yet not the Asian Ludi Lin cast as Zack Taylor.

Dacre is gunna be in season 2 of stranger things

Dacre Montgomery has landed a role in Stranger Things season 2!

Dacre is gunna be in season 2 of stranger things

It's great seeing the Ranger actors find success past the movie. Becky has her own movie, Naomi is being looked at for Star Wars and now Dacre has been cast in one of the best Netflix shows of all time. Wonder how long it'll take until Marvel Studios snatches up these actors?

So Red Letter Media predicts a 26% for Power Rangers. They didn't even give a real reason for it.

They even gave Spider-Man: Homecoming, a Marvel produced Spider-Man movie starring two of the best characters from Civil War aka Spidey and Tony Stark a 72%. This is the same score, The Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield got.

Lol if Homecoming gets 72%. They probably think Power Rangers will be unfairly judged by critics just because it's "Power Rangers'

Their from the school of thought MovieBob pointed out in a video he did. They're like John Campea before he saw the trailer.

John doesn't like Power Rangers so at least this is appealing to people outside the fanbase. I'm a little afraid it may not be something I want from Power Rangers. I mean did we really have to go Chronicle with this for it to work? It's just a bummer how we have to make this look so muted and act like Power Rangers should be X-Men. Wasn't stuff like Sam Raimi's Spider-Man a hit while being pretty cheesy and B-movie-ish in some places as well as colorful? I just don't see why it has to be what it appears to be. I'm not saying this take can't work but I feel like there may have been another route to go that could be more serious and still feel closer to MMPR's vibe.
