I'm totally fine with this movie being as average as average can get... That works. I just REALLY hope we get a sequel, and I really hope they can knock it out of the park with it.

Odds are not in your favor.

Yeah us Hoping for a sequel just to see someone like the Green Ranger in a Sequel and even Lord Zedd would be cool. We will have to wait and see to be honet I think this would've performed better if it kept is January Date may just be me though. Opening up against the 2nd Week of BATB is going to be tuff.

6 Sequel arc...I wonder what their plan is if they even make it past the 1st. Obviously Zedd. Would they just adapt Machine Empire/Divatox/UAE for MMPR? Though funny 6 sequels=the length of the Zordon era.

Yeah, hopefully if it some how manages a second one. They don't put it against a movie like BATB.

Read somewhere that they don't have a morphing sequence. If that's true, that's a bummer, since to be honest that's about 80% of the reason I was considering watching the movie. :csad:

It's literally in the promos.

Movie 1 Rita and Goldar
Movie 2 Rita (Don't know if she dies in this movie yet) sends out the Evil Green Ranger.
Movie 3. Lord Zedd and Green Ranger loses his power?

I think that could make for a good 3 films than that's where things get tough obviously I think they could go with Tommy getting the White Ranger Power in the 4th movie but would u bring back Lord Zedd for maybe have both Rita and Zedd.

Movies 5 and 6 is anybody's guess but the talk of this is all for not if it can't do something in the money department and make back its budget to even green light a sequel.

I hate when people talk about making multiple movies before movie Numero Uno comes out. I don't know what the movie is going to do because I can't tell the future but wait for the weekend box office.

Personally I will be surprised if it hits 50mil opening weekend. That doesn't mean it won't that just means that I will be surprised.

Disney Star Wars announced a trilogy... was that premature? :o

honestly right now I say 30 percent chance of a sequel. could that change by sunday, sure. but with the low estimate for box office number. it's not looking likely. before fans jump on me. i'm not rooting for it to fail. I just don't think the odds are in it's favor right now.

I have little doubt there will be a sequel. If this is going to crash, it will be like TMNT did.

The prequels proved that Star Wars will sell no matter its quality. *dodgers prequel lovers tomatoes*

Just about every prominent movie has been underestimated this year so far. If anything I think it will go a little over the projections. I was at 37mil but now I'm at 40mil on the dot.

Might be wrong but the impression Im getting is PR fans like it and their word of mouth will get other PR fans to go see it. However I dont think the PR fanbase alone can carry this film to success. And I dont think the filmappeals enough to the non PR fans. And lets face it, in a lot of minds PR is an absolute joke because of the cheesy generally awful television shows. And with the bad reviews...I just dont know how the hell this film could ever pull in enough profit.

But Saban might be able to get a sequel made at Lionsgate or with Netflix.

That's what people said before the awful Bayformers came on the scene in 2007 (with a 57% rotten score). Even with three sequels worse than the first, that franchise is a moneymaker for Paramount.

Lionsgate has made sequels to movies with modest profit margins, i.e. Divergent had a net profit of $71M once DVD, pay-TV and other things factored in. They would like for PR to overperform, like significantly higher than $50M on opening weekend, but that won't happen.

And Saban has other options for the franchise. He's pretty friendly with Jim Gianopoulos, former head of 20th Century Fox, and he might take the franchise to Paramount Pictures (their parent company Viacom also owns Nick) should LGF's film underperform. But I don't see him taking a film franchise to Netflix.

Transformers is the exception to the rule. People know exactly what they're getting with those films and Bay pretty much goes all out with those films.

As a fan of the old school tv show I'm really looking forward to this one. Just seems like some good fun.

Another reboot at Paramount or Fox?

Really? As in "it's morphing time"
Yup.

Yeah...that's the outcome I forgot to take into consideration. This would be an even more guaranteed hit under Universal.

POWER RANGERS is 90 minutes of toothless teen melodrama apparently sources from a Tumblr crawl, capped off by 20 minutes of decent pre-viz.
