I think Shell is a lock to do over 200 to 300mil internationally. Domestically it's hard to tell because overt science fiction is tricky the sell in the states sometimes. Even overt sci fi films with an action bent aren't an easy sell. I won't rule out a 100mil total but I don't think that's guaranteed at all.

Shell will make it's money in Asia. I don't see it appealing here in the US though.

I don't like Jason David Frank. Comes off as an arrogant *****e. Tommy is still the best.

I think he's a pompous ass, but I don't hate him. I did laugh at him getting kicked out of the premiere though.

Tell me about Goldar - is he a zord, essentially, or does he get some character like in the old show?

Wait what? I did not hear that story.

Towards the end of the movie he took his phone out and tried to record [BLACKOUT]his five second cameo[/BLACKOUT]. Security escorted him out into the lobby.

Oh my God, that is fantastic. :funny:

Thank you both.

He is a monster made out of liquid gold. Nothing more. Nothing less. He's like a giant putty.

I hope this movie gets a sequel, this cast deserves it, there was real, genuine effort put into this movie and I appreciate it. I think a sequel could really be a home run with a stronger script, a little more money for the action and CGI and, of course, the Green Ranger.

I would definitely see the sequel if it happens and honestly the way the movie was if it doesn't get a sequel then that would be an injustice to Power Ranger fans everywhere

I wonder if they will play on the Tommy and Kimberly relationship in the sequel and if they do then I wonder if Jason getting involved creates a sort of love triangle within the Power Rangers? I mean it naturally would make sense with Tommy and Jason being rivals since the Red Ranger is supposed to be the leader right and with Tommy coming in he eventually became the leader of the Rangers so

If we get a sequel i am going to guess Kim will be the one to break through to him. "I was a horrible person onve but with friendship i became a better person, you can to "

Though im kind of scared they would spend the first 90mins delvinginto why Tommy is a mess up.

Perhaps Tommy is a juvenile delinquent in the sequel in that he was in juvy and if that happens then perhaps him being a screw up in that way would actually humanize Tommy make him seem like an out of control teen with real problems or perhaps he fell into the wrong crowd

Which is really what the big bad should have been, just a giant Putty. They could have saved a proper Goldar for a sequel.

I wonder if at first they make Tommy an evil Ranger but then over the course of the film they turn him good and he ends up joining the Power Rangers soon after

I met JDF at a convention. Is he full of himself. Yes. Not very bright? Sure. But he went absolutely out of the way for his fans. One of my best experiences at a convention and he recorded a video message to my little boy who couldn't make it.

I'm just out I'm not gonna change my mind the design aspects of this film are extremely lacking but the film works it's not epic or gonna set the cinema on fire but it was enjoyable, and it took guts to basically spend the first film building characters when they could have just basically did a large scale episode

The individual zords looked better than the stills but the megazord still looked terrible, and I don't care what anyone says you will never convince me that goldar is a decent design.

I'm looking forward to a second film but I'm dreading what zedd and the dragon Zoe's may look like

To me, the problem is we just had a movie where the big bad is revealed to be an evil Green Ranger so having another evil green ranger right after seems a bit much. Of course this one will be suited up more then Rita was but we would definitely need 2 villains.

Which is why I believe it'll be zedd influencing tommy along with Rita

Also nice touch with the finster squat and baboo toys in Billy's basement
