And when you do the math in relation to the worldwide total, it's at 12%. That is how much China helped with the first GOTG.

Where do you get these numbers? What makes you think the domestic number will get to 114m when it is has clearly been following the pattern of a movie that will come in between 90m-95m. Where do you get 138m overseas from?

power rangers is currently trading a $80.12, meaning that is how much the market thinks power rangers is gonna make after 4 weeks

80 x 1.4= 112 and to get the world wide total, you take

112 and multiply it by 2.2

112 x 2.2= 246, give or take in either direction

Since the first week, PR has been lagging behind both Oblivion and Tomorrowland. So again, why is it going to do 25m more then Oblivion and 21m the Tomorrowland?

Lol that's hilarious!! Rocky may not be a fan favorite Ranger due to poor writing but i'd be lying if I said Steve Cardenas (actor who portrays Rocky) isn't an attractive dude. Becky G seemed to love him haha.... No love for Tommy and Adam it seems xD Funny video.

Update from BO theory forums. They have PR getting 2.7 on Saturday. Will wait for word from Deadline,but the Mod from the forums is usually tuned in with theaters. He's usually only off by small percentages.

P.S. So for PR to reach the projected number of 6.3 from deadline of yesterday. It would need another 1.9 on Sunday. Right now it's two day total from Friday/Saturday is 4.4M.

Honestly I have watched this movie 4x and I love it! The casting was great Bank's performance as Rita makes you want to know more about her backstory, can't get enough of Alpha 5 and the rangers themselves you want to see them again and again. The casting people at Lionsgate need to find the perfect actor to play Tommy that can fit in with them. No disrespect to the MMPR-Turbo actors/characters but I really hope these supposedly five movies expand on these particular Rangers.

The thing is you gotta make people care.
Obviously they were much lower budget and are comedies, but look at the Jump Street movies. The show was a fun little bit of nostalgia but they made movies good which made people care about the films

Or even to a lesser extent Deadpool. Now Deadpool was very well liked and had a cult following, but i dont think must people would've guessed that it would be one of the highest grossing superhero movies of recent years (other than the movies with Iron Man it outgrossed all MCU movies). And that was due to making a good movie and having a kick ass marketing campaign.

But fans make up very little of the overrall audience.
Fans can hate something, ie Transformers, Star Wars prequels, but if the general audience get on board then who cares in the studios eyes

From everything I heard about this, they just didn't give the people what they want and they had a bit of a poor release date

Someone some pages back: "I liked that they had character development in the first part of the film. It's refreshing" or something like that; which is just kinda stupid to me because it's very simple to have characters develop and still have action throughout the movie.

They made a YA movie, when they should've made a superhero movie or a sci fi movie
