When has it happened that a film that didn't make money got a sequel? Especially a franchise starter with middling reviews and low audience engagement
percific rim didnt really do that great domestically
Of course. But Fox also didn't craft a movie on the level of Harry Potter. They got cheap and didn't hire the talent outside of the actors. Columbus wasn't responsible for Potter's success, as the ability to continue to make successful movies after him showed.
No, because Columbus wasn't Lucas in this situation. JK got a lot of offers, but went with the one that would, A) keep it British, B) legitimately sought out her input and C) basically gave Heyman complete control. That makes no sense. That's like saying George Lucas wasn't at all responsible for Star Wars success because look how successful it's been without him involved at all.
I did my part.
I just went to a Rangers board. They are blaming Lionsgate for the release now. Like more advertising and a different date would have changed this result.![]()

Which version of the home release are you folks getting (Harry/smallville fan)?
They have dedicated movie threads, which I go and read. Like how some don't seem to understand how toy sales work or how they are promotion PR being #1 toy sales in the UK, like that is a big deal. One, it does nothing for Lionsgate, 2 its the UK and there is no description on what that even means. This isn't Star Wars selling 3 billion in a quarter. There are no numbers.I've hardly seen any complaining of that scale lately from those sites. If anything, folk in the fandom seem to either be on twitter lately and talking about that or discussing the JDF incident up in Phoenix.
Saw something about a plot to hurt JDF at the expo. What exactly happened?
