I'm gonna be modest with my prediction

OW: 100 million
Overall: 500-600 million

After seeing it, it would be a complete shame if the critics negative reviews and scores on sites like RT bring down the BO. This is a great superhero film, and as I said in other thread on par with Iron Man. I am sooooooooo relieved now. WOW, amazing action. THIS IS SUPERMAN!

It's not hypocritical if they were basing the quality of the film on their opinion and not the reviews.

I see you misunderstood my post.

The GA KNOWS this is a present day "ACTION" film about SUPERMAN. This carries all the way to the GA's p severrimal instincts. No super hero comes CLOSE to Superman! Just the idea of a Superman in action will resinate with moviegoers like no movie before it. This is where SR FAILED...Good reviews or bad, get ready to be shocked!

I can think of several superheroes that come close, c'mon don't be THAT kind of fan.

I so hope your right I know I'll love this movie just not sure how much the GA will love it. I'm going to say OW around 140-150 million which would be really good.

Theatre is abnormally packed for a midnight showing. Not 'The Dark Knight Rises' crowded but more than I anticipated.

There was that Wal Mart showing at 7pm so maybe most people saw it early

anthing over a 100mill ow is fine superman returns did 52mill ow this is a 2nd reboot attempt.im happy with 300mill domestic and 300mill overseas don't have to do a billion the sequel will make more

Exactly, and my 7pm showing was packed. MOS was also playing in 5 other theaters (in the same cinima obviously), not sure how packed the other 5 were, but 3D showing was stuffed with fans. Was not expecting that.

It's already made over 100 million in product placement money tie ins. So even if the movie makes 300 million worldwide it's still a success.
300mill worldwide would be a bomb its budget is 225mill or did you mean to say 300mill domestic?

Superman has the most loyal fans ever, if any other superhero film was rated in the 50's it would be getting torn to shreds.

No! 200M!!! i want. LOL as if i got share.

its not gonna touch avengers 207mill people need t be more realistic anything over 100mill is fine

Does anyone else think the negative critical reaction will actually entice some people to check out the movie?

They see Nolan's name on the trailers and spots expecting it to be great after his Batman trilogy and instead of rave reviews they get the opposite. Maybe curiousity at the disconnect between what they expect out of a movie that invokes the Nolan name and the negative reviews will pull some people in to see if its as bad as the reviews make MOS out to be.

after seeing it tonight. $800 million worldwide.

Will make tons more overseas

Btw, IMAX 3D is a waste of money for this film

See it in 2D

Worldwide I am hoping for 600 million. I think that will secure a sequel.

My final opening weekend projection is $124.6 million.

I really think the weekend gross is going to be bigger than what most have said. I am still sticking to $130-$150 million. Friday's estimate will tell us a lot. If it grosses less than $55 mil for Friday, it'll probably end up with $115 mil or less.

Really hard to predict this one. It's been pretty fun working on it though! :)

Agreed. The BO predictions have been pretty wide, ranging from anywhere between $75 m to $160 m. The mixed reviews may affect the BO turnout, but the crowd turnout for the midnight showings and the initial overseas results (granted, those are from 2 countries only) are encouraging.

People have really begged it as low as $75 million?! Not a chance. I think it's going to be huge, personally.

Both my viewings were great. about 3 quarters full for the wal-mart screening, and packed for the midnite showing.
great crowd reactions as well.
