Things like the shaving of his beard to me are completely unnecessary. It's minutia that has no place in telling a good story.

Shaving his beard with heat vision could be the line that makes this a great Superman movie. So he must, HE MUST. :o

we never see bruce shave his

do we really need to see superman to shave his?

it would take 3 seconds to show him shaving his beard with laser eyes

and it's something I could see being in a goyer/nolan script

but I don't really care either way

That's bc there's nothing cool about seeing a regular guy shave. Plus Batman had a really stupid growl all three movies. That to me sucked but whatever Lol Its just a lil something fun to see Supes do. Something that could be quick and wouldn't hurt. I'd like to see it but I really don't care either way :)

Meh...I've seen him shave with heat vision numerous times in comics, cartoons and in live action. I don't need to see it the movie, though if it was there it would be a nice little shout to comic fans.

I hope they end MOS in a similar way. It would send chills down my spine.
I'm hoping for that as well. I imagine that that particular bookend to that narrative drew Christopher Nolan to that book in the first place, as he likes that type of stuff.

Hahaha...As someone who has read a lot of comics, I can honestly say Birthright is one of the best. However, I also HATE Kingdom Come, so I understand not liking what everyone else likes :cwink:

Meh...I also enjoy elseworlds. They're like interesting, creative exercises.

STAS, JL and JLU are good, but Timm depowered Supes A LOT. That's not to say they aren't good, but I was never a fan of a wimpy Superman. Better to show him holding back, which I am so HAPPY the last episode of JLU finally reconciled. Just would have been nice if they hit on topic more often instead of making him seem like a wimp.

Off the top of my head, the current Action Comics run is better then Birthright and so are All Star Superman, Moore's classics, Brainiac, Superman and the Legion, Superman for All Seasons, Up, Up and Away, and Secret Identity.

So the movie has been done shooting since February. But then it got bumped back an entire extra year. What was the reason for this. Just because they didnt have a major SuperHero movie for next year? The shooting on TDKR and MOS was almost concurrent. With MOS just going an extra 2-3 months right? So why an entire year? One would think that a majority of the CGI is already done right? Otherwise what would they be doing with all this extra time?

December was crowded what with The Hobbit and The Great Gatsby. WB needed a big summer tentpole and this is it.

So would that mean that most of the movie is done then? Aside from a few tweaks and minor changes it should be pretty much finished?

Zimmer also has to score it.

They might be still working on the cgi, then it's editing and add music.

Don't they have to convert it for 3-D/Imax?

Well no, they're still doing post production work and reshoots.

Also as said above, Zimmer still needs to score the film.

Editing and CG concurrently. They're probably 3 cuts in now, at least. Production wrapped in February, so the Editor's Assembly was probably done by late March or early April.

I'd love to know what music they're temping with. No doubt a fair amount of existing Zimmer material.

I'm hoping that Thin Red Line track was chosen for the SDCC trailer because they're currently using it as a temp track somewhere in their current cut of the film. Just that thought is making me really excited about hearing what Zimmer's gonna come up with for this.

Watched the clearer CC footage again this morning for the first time in more than a week and still hits you. That trailer is about as close to perfect as a trailer could have been.

'Cuts' are an ever-evolving thing, especially these days. They could be in what's 'officially' cut #3 but it could be seven changes of varying degrees added to their third full version, and so on. Edit will be going for a while, and who knows if the studio will want a test-screening near release. As for temp music, I'd imagine a very wide palette even outside of just Zimmer's stuff, but probably excluding the Williams STM work.

Speaking of temp....some years back when I was cutting a film and using temp music, some of the stuff was from 'A League Of Their Own'...and it took me by surprise who the composer was because I wouldn't not have thought it was him. Yep....Zimmer. :oldrazz: But then if you listen to some stuff closely, you could pick up some of his signature 'synthy' strings et al.

Right, essentially what I meant, that they're at least in their 3rd delivered cut, and still cranking.

What really gets me is that they are probably mostly done with the movie aside from some minor tweaks. So, for the most part I could be watching MOS right now!!! I wish I had a way to hack into the studio's computers and watch the movie right now. I promise I wouldn't tell anyone.

No, they're probably quite far from 'done' considering how much post and effects work this film will require. And trust me, you don't want to watch any film until it is absolutely finalized and completed...unless you're actually working on that film.

By and large, they're almost certainly done with the film now. If they still had full teams working on post production on this film, then the costs would skyrocket.

The film wasn't originally scheduled to come out until Dec, so I am sure they are still working full blast.

The conversion is what will take up the extra time.
