Mass Effect 2

Well, I brought an used copy of ME2 for my 360, and I had to buy the Cereberus Network code for 1200 MS (or $15 US). All the free DLC can be downloaded directly and without any code from the Cereberus Network.

I borrowed my friends copy but liked the game so much I ordered my own as soon as I finished it. I was gonna just get the Cerb code but new copies are only $20 now so I figured spending the extra five bucks was worth it in the long run since I replay stuff a lot.

The fact that people still love and are talking about this game... what? A year after it's release (almost) proves how good it is.

While that may be true, I think all this recent talk is due to the fact that it was just releaesed on the PS3, 2 months ago. Alot of new gamers to the ME series and universe are finally getting a chance to experience it, hence come to here to discuss and provide thoughts on it

If you ask me, I think that PS3 players got shafted because there wasn't a ME1 port. Sure they can make the choices from the first one through...a digital comic (am I right on that?). But it's not the same thing. Though the game is a bit outdated, and I suck at it, I enjoyed playing ME1.

Well I do have ME1 on my laptop, so if I can make the choices as close as possible during the comic I should be good.

Dragon Age 2 had a great couple of features for imports: First, it offers you a few default scenarios of what happened in the first game instead of just having the same scenario for every new, unimported character you start. Second, you can see a summary of what choices you made in your previous game's saves, so you don't have to sit there wondering whether your first game's character did this or that until someone in the second game comes up and explicitly mentions something you did.

The first feature may not work quite as well with Mass Effect since you're continuing with the same character through all three games, but I hope BioWare at least brings the second feature over to ME 3. There's like a year or two between each of these games and my memory's utter s***, so I never know what I did in the previous game. :o

I wish there was a summary of all the major decisions you made in ME1 when you import your character over to ME2 as well, instead of just an overview of the origin you chose for Shepard.

I bought the ps3 copy today and I see all the DLC mission packs in my journal except the Shadow Broker one. Does that pop up later or is it attached to another mission? Is it part of the Normandy Crash site?

Love the series but still cant get the friggin ea/bioware codes from my game to load to my GT even with using thier profile from the site. The site keeps saying it's simple but theres no option to link it. I waited 8 months for them to fix it but still nothing. Any known method to fix it?

I believe Shadow Broker unlocks once you visit Illium.

took me 33 hours but i finally beat ME2 this morning. not bad, Shepherd. not bad at all. too bad [BLACKOUT]Miranda ended up dying (which was wierd cuz even though i lost her loyalty defending Jack, she still told off the Illusive Man at the end. i guess shell always do that??)[/BLACKOUT] looking forward to ME3 in the fall.

I've been meaning to post this for a few days now, but it kept slipping my mind. I'm actually surprised no one has posted it yet.

Anyway, I guess it's all but confirmed that "The Arrival" is about the Reapers hitting Earth. There was an insert with Dragon Age II that depicted what appears to be a section of Earth engulfed in flame with a caption that reads, "THE ARRIVAL has begun".

Just thought I'd share.

No date. But since they included that, I have to assume that we'll hear more soon-ish

I just thought that was an advertisement for ME3, kind of like there was a DA2 advertisement with ME2.

It very well could be, but the final ME2 DLC is supposedly titled "The Arrival", and since those words are so prominent in the ad, I'm assuming its for that.

Could be.

I just wish they'd announce this DLC pack already! Seeeeriously.

I liked how in the first one it had the power bars when you selected your squad, so I would know people's strengths. I don't know why they changed that. It's harder to interpret people's strengths by just reading a power list.

Is there a way to reset the class you pick with the Combat Mastery? I picked Commando for my Soldier, but given the style that I like to play (which is usually hide behind covers and pick off the enemies instead of charging them with guns blazing), I think Shock Trooper's increased health may be more useful in the long run.

You can respec in Mordin's lab after Horizon.

Ah, okay thanks. I hope it won't require Element Zero because despite all the minings that I've done, I still don't have enough of this material and most of the upgrades are depending on it. :csad:
