Mass Effect 3 - Part 1

Yep, I agree. I know for sure, I don't even want him back as a squad member.

I think BioWare has outright stated Jacob won't return as a squad member at all.

Too bad. I liked him.

He was very vanilla. Typical soldier with a troubled family history. Nothing about him was really bad, he was just not all that interesting. He's no singing doctor who may or may not be the alien equivalent of Dr. Mengele, depending on which race you happen to be, or a former cop who's lost his faith in the law and become an avenging angel of death, or a mysterious yet flippant and surprisingly emotional master thief. The rest of the cast is just so good that he looks like a cardboard cutout next to them.

I didn't say he was well-written. I said I liked him. "Vanilla" is an easy, lazy way to describe him. The basics are there: he's confident, he's let his self and his actions define him and takes faith in that, and in that he's not wholly different from most Shepard backgronds and how the Consort speaks of Shepard on the Citadel in ME1.

But whoever wrote him did a pretty piss poor job of showing that, and I wager some of that is because of Jacob being the played character in ME: Galaxy, which all of, oh, five people played.

But I like him, for being the normal guy who has his **** straight. Just like I like Zaeed for being the stereotypical grizzled war vet who just likes to shoot ****.

It has more connotations than the word is worth. Makes it ugly. Also makes alternatives more attractive.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of Jacob either. After the first missions where its neccesary to take him with you I didn't use him again until his loyalty mission.

I couldn't stand Jacob, im replaying it again. I can't stand him all over again.

Look, at the end of the day, I think we can all agree that at least he was no Kaidan. So that's something.

I think Kaidan, from this point on, should be refereed to as "He that must not be named." It's fitting, really.

I loved him as a character but didnt care for him as a squadmate. He was the most useless in terms of abilities

At least was able to hold his own though. It's not like he was he that must shall not be named..

Arrival is the only 1 that should be played after you beat the game, the others you can do anytime without a real impact on the story. Shadow Broker actually has some useful resources you can tap into too, so I'd go with that first.

Well, I just found out that you should at least play Firewalker before Overlord, so you don't magically get that vehicle prototype out of nowhere.

If I find out I have to sacrifice anyone, it'll probably be new guy and would have been Jacob it he was part of the next game.

I wonder if they will let us import a Shep but still let us modify his/her appearance......

given the new engine, hopefully that means an imrpoved Character Creator.

I'd like to be able to give my default male Shep a little more hair, perhaps more of a crew cut than a buzz all over. I'd also like to give him a bit of a beard if possible.

I'd also like to give him some highlights and hopefully a perm.

Benstamania wants to play with Brokeback Shepard. :D

Hey now, beards just make anyone more bad ass. I mean, you could put a beard on Shirley Temple and she'd look intimidating. I also like messing with a creation aspect... but I don't like switching from the default look as other models (even in DA II) just look... Weird. Plus I can't create a good likeness of myself... Sooo...

I hope the face code mechanism returns in ME3, and that ME2 face codes will carry over.

The ME2 face codes were a godsend for me.

My female Shepard who looks like Jennifer Garner says otherwise.
