The new face is supposed to be considerably more detailed ala MaleShep's default in that its not something you can make with the character creator. You're still going to have custom FemShep's and all that but they never really designed FemShep's appearance to be iconic of the series in the way that they did for MaleShep.

They're just trying to rectify that.

Ah I see...just kinda irriates me because I always use default femshep, and maleshep. So it's gonna bother me knowing her whole face is gonna change.

Well you're still going to be able to use your Shepard's face if you're bringing it over from ME1/ME2. That's not changing and I imagine when you go to make a custom FemShep that the old default FemShep will be one of the custom presets. There's really no downside to this one.

what I'm wondering is.....if you import a ME1/ME2 Shep, or use a face code from ME2( which I'm assuming and hoping will still be in ), will your "old" Shep face model be "upgraded" with the new graphic/model engine they are using in ME3?

The faces 'upgraded' from ME1 to ME2, so they will upgrade again. Otherwise the game would look ridiculous if your main character's face didn't match the rest of the game's quality.

The reason they are doing it now is because she will be used in all of the promotional stuff.

That's what I'm saying--should have done that for ME 2. Glad they've realized Jennifer Hale is just as valid a Shep as Mark Meers.

But seriously, I think even saying most is a bit of an understatement. I would say the number of actually unattractive females who are major characters in games is incredibly small.

And I don't think that's really a problem.

That character looks attractive. Kinda like Helen Mirron. She's old, grey, but she would still get it much like this character. As long as her kung fu chop Thunderbirds hands were hidden.

I agree. we see ugly people everyday. Nobody likes looking at them. Playing a video game is abit of fantasy escapism. Most people who play these video games are male. And most of them straight men who like (like everybody) looking at a nice form. At the end of the day Mass Effect is about shooting stupid looking aleins for being jerks and having sex with squid woman dressed in S&M gear. Make your own story doesn't really change the meat and potatoes. Bioware might bang on about mature sophisticated games for thespians who smoke pipes and hunt foxes but they are aiming at the lowest common denominator just like most developers. Being a Bioware fan doesn't put you above that. From looking at the Bioware forums, some of them seem to be impression that is the case.

I just hope we can take blonde default Shep ( if that is indeed the model that wins out ) and change superficial stuff like eye color, hair style and color, etc.

I can understand changing facial structure would be difficult on the default models, but at least let us change superficial stuff like hair and eye color.....jeez.

also, since they are retooling melee combat a bit......I wonder if Infiltrators will get some kind of cloaking backstab melee attack.

Anyone else planning to do like...a total redo on their ME1 and ME2 files before part 3 comes out? I'm thinking of doing it. I'm just a little hesitant since I suck ass at ME1. Only played it 2, and that was just to fill in the blanks.

I already did my "ultimate" playthrough on Mass Effect 1.

Kaiden is sacrificed.
Wrex is alive.
I let the Rachni Queen live.
I let the Council survive.
I chose Anderson as the member of the Council.
I slept with Ashley.

Same. I have another play through identical to that, but with Liara; I've yet to play 'Liar of the Shadow Broker' with that run though.

My canon run (god, that sounds nerdy) for ME3 will be with Shep's only true love, Tali.
