One thing I'm a little worried about with this game is just running through the main story. In the first game i didn't want to do any side missions because i was chasing Saren all over the galaxy. I felt that if i stopped to "look around" he'd get away(of course i knew he wouldn't). In the second game i didn't have this problem as i was building towards this one epic confrontation(by gathering all the intel and gear i could). Here, the Reapers hit earth, so why would i be planet hopping if the fight is going on at earth? I guess i felt the side missions in the 2nd game felt more organic to the overall plot. They didn't necessarily feel like side missions.
 
Yeah, mining planets for platinum while Earth is being torn in half seems un-commander like.

I have this feeling I'm going to constantly be thinking one thought during ME3:

"I know I'm trying to save Earth, I want to as much as the next guy. But what about the rest of the galaxy?".

I want to save Earth, but there's a much bigger picture then just one planet.
 
god i love this fully upgraded widow anti material rifle. im just destroying harbinger with a quick adrenaline rush head shot.

The Reapers are attacking the Galaxy as a whole, the invasion just begins with Earth. Or maybe there were multiple invasions at once. We know Tuchanka is being invaded at least.

I'm aware of that, but it just seems like they only want to focus on Earth and nothing more (which I'm sure they won't).

I also find it hard to believe that when Shepard returns, Earth will still be worth saving. Wouldn't the Reapers have decimated it by the time Shepard returns?

Eh, maybe I'm grasping at straws.

On the positive side, Mass Effect 3 is out next week! :D :D :D
 
No, I was wondering the same thing. It seems like they attack the Earth so fast and hard that there should be nothing left.

I like that I still have no idea how the Council Races and the others defeat the Reapers. I know there is potential for the game to end VERY badly, but I still have no clue what the secret weapon is that Shepard finds.
 
Yeah that's what I thought as well. Judging at what happens at the beginning of the game, that city should be left in rubble by the end of the day.

I'm sure they'll get some giant Prothean plot dev-, oops sorry :p Prothean super weapon to destroy the crap out of the Reapers.
 
yea judging by the demo, trailers, etc....the reapers should have everywhere in rubble in about 15 minutes

Aside from the mission, has there been any details as to if the Collector's edition content will be DLC for everyone and how much they will cost?
 
I dont believe they have, but isn't it just like a few new outfits and some weapons? Id assume if they were gonna sell that it prob be about 5 bux per pack.
 
so.....has there been any word on if the character creator will be more "detailed" in the final version of the game? like more/better looking presets, hair styles, etc.?

I wasn't overly impressed with the CC in the demo ( not to mention that my ME2 Fem Shep facecode looked NOTHING like what she did in ME2 ).

also, has anyone experimented with a maxed out Shockwave? how useful is that power?

thanks. Im still undecided whether I should keep my Frys. CE preorder at $82 or go for the SE at Best Buy for $60 + the $20 giftcard, which I'll use on a PSN card towards DLC.

yea its DLC for everyone, 800 MS points i believe...so which is what, $10?
 
hmm im not sure, i was under the impression that it was the game and squadmate... but maybe the squadmate part is strictly for CE preorders.

i know the picture said 800 ms pts
 
Normally...most of the CE content for Mass Effect remains exclusive to the CE.

But, that was before the 'Ashes' DLC was announced to go up on XBL.

The Collector's Armor (aka, The Guyver suit) and the Collector Assault Rifle can't be gotten by any other means other than the CE for the 360. And PSN, since I do not believe the PS3 version ever got a Collector's Edition.
 
isnt that only the mission? I dont beleive the other stuff has been mentioned

Far as I know, it's the mission and the extra squadmate. That's all, I think.
