I recently found out you can restore Jack's loyaly AFTER the fight with Miranda. I tried it out and BOOM, all is well.

All crew alive
All crew loyal
Miranda sexed
Collector based destroyed

I am now ready for ME3.
Yeah, I sided with Miranda but near the end of the game I got an option to smooth things over with Jack...although she tells me to eff off each time I talk to her now.

I put the rest of the $80 dollars down for the CE today. I'm one of those guys that preorders games with the minimum 5 bucks haha, but it turns out that one of the voice actors for the game will be at EB games for the midnight launch...I'm not normally a midnight launch type of guy though.

Yay, finished ME1! Now it's off to ME2 and after that, we'll take back the Earth. :awesome:

Also, have you guys seen this yet? :funny:

How big is the second Normandy anyway?

I don't know if there is a meter count anywhere but here's a size comparison between the old Normandy and the new one.

I don't really get the design. With planes and cars sharp smooth design is used for aerodynamics to prevent friction from air drag. But in space this design is pretty much irrelevant barring take off from the ground and decent through atmosphere. You could create alot of super cool designs but it just looks like a big fighter jet. It's pretty boring imo. In most games and tv/movies the humans have boring ships and the aliens have exotic cool looking ships.

I love the design for the Normandy. Very sleek and futuristic. Fits well within the mass effect world. It doesn't look like any other Sci Fi ship I've seen.

The Normandy, and especially the first one went into atmosphere a lot so maintaining an aerodynamic design makes sense.

I really like the fact that the cockpit area looks like a geth head.

Does anyone know if fuel is making a return for ME 3? I forgot how much it sucked in ME 2. You'd think a game as big on exploration as the Mass Effect franchise is wouldn't include a mechanic to discourage it.

How hard is it to press and hold a button for few seconds?

it's not but you also couldn't explore much more than a single system without heading back to the depot iirc

it didn't bother me that bad but it didn't add a whole lot to the gameplay either.

Yeah, agreed. It wasn't that terrible but it really deterred the exploration. There wasn't that cool sense of discovery that you get from other RPG's.

The existence of fuel is [BLACKOUT]confirmed[/BLACKOUT] by the IGN videos.

Now
whether or not it'll work the exact same way in ME2 is not really told. Mining for minerals is gone and scanning has been amended. The video link has already been posted, but I'll do it again as it got swallowed up when this thread moved on to part 5.

yea i think you have to have 100% paragon or renegade to get loyalty back...unless you have played ME1 and 2 multiple times and have your shepard up to badass level (which i did)

as for the Sr2s size compared to the SR1, i think i remember reading either in the game or in a article before ME2 was released saying it was about twice as big

The problem with MY Shepard just taking it...is that me and The Illusive Man were still cool at the end of ME2.

There's an option to, atleast in theory, cut him off by saying "Lose this frequency, Joker" or something like that. So, in a Renegade playthrough...Shepard jacking the ship makes sense. Especially with, again in theory, Miranda and Jacob loyal to Shepard and not Cerberus by the end of the Suicide Mission.

Even EDI seems more loyal to Shepard and the crew on the Normandy that any actual Cerberus initiative.

I think in my playthrough, they'll need to explain it. Otherwise...my actions at the end of ME2 were pretty much pointless.

Unless it has something to do with the Collector's Ship. I did warn TIM that if it was used for anything other than taking on the Reapers I'd turn on him. So, I guess there's an out there for Bioware.

They're both fairly small by most starship standards. But I can't find a given size anywhere. Looks about the size of the Blockade Runner from Star Wars. So, I would guess about 200-250 meters for the second Normandy.

I'd like to find out what's new in the Normandy this time around. Apparently there are new areas in the ship.

It would be damn cool if they have a war room :D

Didn't the briefing room double as the war room?

I mean a more focused war room, to hold the Galaxy at War things and to track everything in regards to the war with the Reapers. So in other words, using it for more than just cutscenes.

Again, I'm the only person who liked farming rescources and searching all the different planets for anomalies and such. It was relaxing.
