Mass Effect 3 - Part 5

lol you can't shoot with that one though un less it was a spy car which it wasn't . I'd like to see those in that universe though.

Why not? They successfully translated a heist, horror, and elements from a bunch of other genres into Mass Effect's universe. Spy thrillers can't be that much harder. :)

if they haven't done it by now (and I mean in ME2 - 3) I don't expect it til the jump after shepard story is done. it was really the focus of they were doing story wise or research wise for this game. Remember I did want bioware to buy off Alpha protocal makers and while still working on that games sequel have an ancestor of thorton work for Shepard. as a link between the two.

well that was one of my hopes / ideas.

In any case there hasn't been a real hint of that( spy car or otherwise) being in that universe besides the shadow broker(who was for him self and partly evil) and their(as workers) way too soldier like to be that of what spies(all walks of life hire to do this job) fully are.

I'd love an Alpha Protocol 2.

But, I'm probably the only person on this planet who does.

Dude, there's plenty of stuff about spies in the ME universe. The salarian STG, the Spectres, the other arms of Cerberus, etc. All have spy overtones. We just haven't seen the really spyish side of those. We've seen more the military side because Shepard's a soldier.

I'd like a game featuring that after this storyline is completed.

that's what I meant their still more of the soldier special force verity. they use the term agents but they are not really show in that capacity at all. no gadgets, no real under cover or deep cover work. And raids that fallow after you've gathered enough evidence from the prior work. I know this is more about on coming war. but they stated the specters are more and yet still it's all about the type that still deals in what has to do with war fare then actually being a real spy type agents and the STG the same deal with a few minor differences. but that's what I meant.

I'm with you. The game was buggy as **** but only because it was rushed. It had so much potential though and so many cool aspects. The player's control over the story and character relationships rival even that of Mass Effect. It is an underrated, albeit flawed gem.

I think we only see that side of it because we're seeing it from Shepard's perspective. Why would he have any interaction with deep cover agents if he's a very known, publicly recognized war hero? He only gets called in when the spy work is over and things require a more traditional military approach. The Arrival DLC is an excellent example of exactly that. Clearly, Kenson was doing what we're thinking of as traditional spy work, and Shepard only hears about it after she's gone missing and Hackett needs her extracted by force.

I literally could not get through the tutorial for Alpha Protocol, like the interface on mouse/keyboard - it was just so busted that the hacking segment was basically unplayable. It was really disappointing because I like Obsidian a lot.

like I said there was potential in the game tons in alpha protocol. but they killed them selves on the game play aspect due to bad leadership and rushing from sega.

yeah it's true but then gain it can also be said that
arrival shows other wise too. I guess it's more of timing thing here. plus shapard will have a deep cover agent working him inside Cerberus
Mass Effect Infiltrator

Protagonist

Randall Ezno
be sides Miranda and Jacob which I think have been cutting their ties to cerberus .

And who's to say shepard hasn't run into those before. he's been in the alliance military long enough . look at Sam Axe (former navy seal) from burn notice who met micheal weston through him just being seal or Sam hanna from NCIS L.A. again former Seal turned spy/navy cop him self.
I'm just saying it would have been cool.

Have you considered giving the console version a shot?

Hmm, Shepard looks and sounds like Jeffrey Donovan and the guy from Infiltrator looks like Bruce Campbell? Anwar has an accent anyhow so she can do Miranda. Mass Effect movie with Burn Notice cast, FTW! ;)

lol I 'd say shepard looks more like Hicks from" alphas" the newest version of your own made X-Men made for TV beside 4400 and Heroes. And that guy was a former marine too. infact he's make a good shepard for the movie. hmmmmm.

At the time no, I felt pretty burned by that initial experience. People swear up and down its story though so maybe I'll give the game another look see if the price has dropped enough.

I see what you mean.

from when I reviewed the game for Ep while the other host's of that video game show did the consoles they said from their review the console version of the game were worse then when I played Alpha protocol for the pc . I also use the game pad for the hacking at the same time. It was too hard for just the key board. I'd switch back and forth to the mouse and key board after the hacking and lock picking was over.

But I shouldn't have had too.

It is usually less than ten on Amazon. Trust me, the story and characters are tremendous and the impact that the player's choices can have on the game is as well.

Hmm, quite the resemblance. I'd prefer Donovan though. His attitude and demeanor is perfect for Shepard and his look is pretty damn close.

I always saw Micheal weston as what cyclops should actually be like now or in a few more years and Jack Bristow of alias fame as what cyclops should be when he's graying. Well that's if he reachs that latter state. but that's how I view it Matt.

I guess Havok would be Jack bauer.

I'm pretty sure the game automatically changes over to a xbox360 control scheme if you have a pad. Still, no excause. Especially considering they use to be a pc developer. Exact same thing with Dungeon Siege III (which they also developed). I can understand focusing development on the platform where the most sales are likely to come from (usually the xbox360) but their is no excause for a basic control scheme failure, both those games should not have been put out the door at all in the current state they were in (same with Skyrim). It's a problem on the pc thats becoming increasingly annoying and while it's great moders fix alot of this crap, it should be the developers not the friggin users doing it. Thats something good about Mass Effect on the pc, they have an UI specifically for the mouse and keyboard with controls that work well for the most part.

The problem for that Alpha protocol game was the leader ship the workers wanted to work on finishing the game play. But the leaders for the game kept on making them jump to other sides and sega was also rushing them cause they said they'd have the game out by a certain date.

it was on joystiq and it's on the thread here on the hype. if you can find it.

I put it up after I found this out after I reviewed it. It was just the bosses screwing every one else over.

lol with the hint's to the ME3 star fighters in the game, that both kids have been playing with in the commercials at and in ME2 there were star fighters in shuttle bays in a few bases in the game. You may get your wish in ME3. Though I don't expect it to be like starfox.

Yeah, from everything I read the development of that game was rather insane with some SEGA exec pretty much imagining himself as some kind of a hot shot developer and sinking that game hard.

I figured as much but I didn't have a wired controller at the time, and it was a friend's copy, so I was more so just disgusted and wiped my hands of it.

Looks like the PC version is 5 bucks on amazon, can't really beat that price.
