Yeah, from everything I read the development of that game was rather insane with some SEGA exec pretty much imagining himself as some kind of a hot shot developer and sinking that game hard.

I figured as much but I didn't have a wired controller at the time, and it was a friend's copy, so I was more so just disgusted and wiped my hands of it.

Looks like the PC version is 5 bucks on amazon, can't really beat that price.

If you haven't played it, i'd recommend using that money for "Vampire the masquerade" instead.
Should be about the same price, or less.

Edit: Bloodlines (the sequel) not the original

Pause the video at 2:38.

Isn't that a segment from the demo, i.e, start of the game? It looks like Shepard is in armor.

There've been a bunch of builds of that level, I'm sure. Or it could be from later on in the game when Shep returns to Earth. Can't really make assumptions based on a second or two of footage.

I'm with you. The game was buggy as **** but only because it was rushed. It had so much potential though and so many cool aspects. The player's control over the story and character relationships rival even that of Mass Effect. It is an underrated, albeit flawed gem.

I liked alot of the things the game did. I was lucky, not getting any glitches in my playthrough. The combat was for ****, but got slightly better once I kicked up Michael's gun skills.

I quite enjoyed how they managed to force me into deciding things, and not giving me all the time in the world to think them over.

I literally could not get through the tutorial for Alpha Protocol, like the interface on mouse/keyboard - it was just so busted that the hacking segment was basically unplayable. It was really disappointing because I like Obsidian a lot.

I heard it was a nightmare on PC. I played it for the 360.

I'm pretty sure the game automatically changes over to a xbox360 control scheme if you have a pad. Still, no excause. Especially considering they use to be a pc developer. Exact same thing with Dungeon Siege III (which they also developed). I can understand focusing development on the platform where the most sales are likely to come from (usually the xbox360) but their is no excause for a basic control scheme failure, both those games should not have been put out the door at all in the current state they were in (same with Skyrim). It's a problem on the pc thats becoming increasingly annoying and while it's great moders fix alot of this crap, it should be the developers not the friggin users doing it. Thats something good about Mass Effect on the pc, they have an UI specifically for the mouse and keyboard with controls that work well for the most part.

I'm not a PC gamer, and even I hear about this being a constant issue. Almost as if at the last minute, they thought they should just toss it on the PC. Sounds all kinds of ****ed up.

Live Action Mass Effect 3 trailer!!! :awesome:

yeah, unfortunately some one beat you to that a long time ago on this thread speed ball. And no it wasn't me.

Anyway on to another former topic we've all had on here. Remember that talk we had on time travel and I mentioned that thing about games spot showing some thing on some fomer DLC ME2 that might show up in 3 and them saying there was link between Dragon age and ME universe's.

It's been said many times. yes you can do this, it's even in the video way above all of us talking before you ask your question Blackman.

But you should still totally play the 2nd.

And the 1st.

:woot:

should I buy this even if I didnt play the 2nd one

Im going to say no. There's really no reason not to play the 2nd one. Go play the 2nd game and if you like it, pick up the 3rd. I highly suggest playing all of them in order. You'll be much more invested in the characters that way.

Ive played the first I liked it but I just never got around to the 2nd

F*** it though Ill just play the 2nd one after I play the 3rd.

The 2nd game is the perfect thing to play until 3 comes out, and if you like it, you'll be overjoyed to be able to continue the story immediately after finishing 2. If you don't like it, you won't like 3.

Edit: Seriously, you'd be performing yourself a huge disservice playing them in the wrong order. ME 2 is basically all about the build up to 3 and it's a damn fine game. You'll take all the winds out of that games sails by playing them in the wrong order.

I can't remember how I managed to play ME2 without playing ME1.

The Cerberus Daily News thing is back on,

Did you have the Genesis comic?

I got all my ME data on my 360. Never played ME2 on the PS3.

Haha.

I love their whole "its just solar flares man, we're okay. No assistance needed!"

I wonder if what's going on with the batarians' sun has anything to do with Tali's dark energy research...

Genesis is available on the 360 too. I've been using it to create all my current characters since I don't want to deal with the irritating issues of ME 1 again.

I think it has more to do with the Reapers carving their way through Batarian space since Shepard destroyed the Alpha Relay in Arrival.

It just feels wrong to play ME on the PS3... it's unnatural. I tried the demo, quickly delete it off my PS3. It was also only playing in 720p, while on the Xbox it's 1080p.
