First, I added some non-blue highlights to her hair so I hope that will suffice.

Secondly, the Toto issue...

This is just one of those times posting progress shots really pays off... I had the idea to do a VERY traditional doe-eyed Toto peaking out from behind the lion looking very out of place...

But changing the breed never occurred to me. That's WAY funnier.

I'm definitely moving in that punk-Toto direction, and I will take the suggestions under advisement. Thanks!

i'd brighten up the highlights a bit.. but otherwise awesome.

i wonder if there's a way to punk out a lil nod to her costume... maybe like blue checkered socks? or a blue checkered sweat band on her arm? just something small... and a cool lil nod

Yeah... When I first started working with color on the body, I tried to make the skirt checkered and then I tired striped stockings, but they both looked weird. I like the idea though, so I scaled it down to the bracelet, as per your suggestion. I also added a blue bow that is a nod to her costume too.

A new update with more details added to Dorothy...

There are a lot of nods to 'Oz' titles. You'll be able to see all of this better when I post a larger final version, but for now I'll point them out... Here's a rundown:

*Her buttons on her skirt are actually two-toned and collectively make a rainbow progression.

*The label on her Converse-esque shoe is a white circle (or an 'o') with a 'z' in the center.

*Her blue & white checked bracelet, and blue hair bow reference her classic costume.

*She has a tattoo that says 'Em & Henry', her Aunt and Uncle.

*She has an apple tattoo, that is a nod to the scene from 'The Wizard of Oz' with the living trees.

*The big tattoo on her forearm that looks like a long phrase is actually the alphabet, inked in brown, but D, G, O, and Z are inked in green hinting at 'Dorothy Gale' and 'Oz'.

*She has a necklace with a bottle of green liquid, which is a reference to the origins of Elphaba from the book and musical 'Wicked'.

I'm probably switching to the Lion next... Keep an eye out.

I would say a dog with a spike collar, a spot on it's eye, and a plaid sweater would suffice. Sorry if it's SO off topic, but punk to me(what i've been around) is dirty mohawks with plaid almost skin tight pants, big black boots, and some band shirt, with the sleeves cut off. Forgot, the leather jackets and the patches too! Search THE CASUALTIES.

Still, love the whole idea Mattchew haha. So are you just doing what you have shown, or will there be surprises?

I think the witch is a no go, but I might squeeze a monkey in there somewhere.

I did more work on the body and started to tied Dorothy to him with shadows. I also reworked the design of the lion's face, and started work on painting it.

I am FINALLY DONE with the lion.

He was always gonna be a pain with all that fur, but he is done...

Not sure which character I'll start next...

Some early work on the Tin Man...

I actually did a retake on him to make his shape less flat. Then I added some rust and the earliest shading pass...

I'll finsh shading, and then I'll start adding all the decals that will cove his chest.
