I actually just recently gave a print of my 'Wild Things' pic to my cousin for her baby's nursery.

Anyway, another post, another winged-monkey...

These little guys are harder than I thought to do.... I'm still glad I did three, but I'll be glad when I 'm done with them.

After that, I'll start work on the background.

No, no crow-gutting action.

As you can see in my next update, it's just chilling on his knee, and the goal is that the Scarecrow is supposed to have an awkward nervous smile as a result.

Maybe it is taking forever but its looking really really good. Im very excited about the final art. The Monkeys are looking splendid.

I'm really digging the Wizard of Oz piece! I think the Scarecrow is the strongest part so far. He's got the mast personality of all the characters.

Rather than reply individually like normal, I will just say thanks for ALL the kind words and suggestions on this piece....

Having said that, I'm finally done with my modern take on the 'Wizard of Oz' gang.

I had the idea to do something like this for a long time, and after months of an utter void of motivation to draw, I decided to just jump back in and see if this lingering idea could get me back in the saddle.

I had a blast with it... I added a few references to different 'Oz' titles, and even a few references to Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' Series. (Many more 'Dark Tower' references were planned, but when I decided to include Elphaba late in the game, I dropped a bunch of them)....

Like I said, I haven't completed a piece in months, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on the final!

I agree. I obviously want to say how much I love it... not just the theme and the concept; but I'm so in awe of the wonderful execution as well. Texture work is outstanding. Congratulations, its a wonderful piece!!!

Love the character design, the colours, the textures, the references and the flapper 'green girl'
