I think the first time I learned that I could be disappointed/underwhelmed by a movie was The Matrix Reloaded. I was 13 years old, and my friends and I were *gigantic* Matrix fans. And then the Matrix Reloaded came along and I, along with most of the world was left saying "What the ****!?". The worst part is, I had taken my dad to see the film with me, because he hadn't seen the first Matrix and I wanted to convince him that it was a revolutionary, thought provoking film that changed action movies forever. And then he sat through Reloaded and had all of his suspicions and preconcieved notions confirmed and to this day he won't watch the first Matrix.
Yep, I was only 13 at the time. I didn't enter my state of cinephilia until about a year and a half ago. Luckily most of my friends love movies as much as I do, so I didn't sacrifice my social life by voraciously diving in to the world of film while watching as many movies as I possibly can.Is that a typo or were you really only 13 years old when The Matrix Reloaded was released?
Not sure what the most disappointing film was but Spider-Man 3 is up there. My gf and I walked out of the theatre and I wasn't pumped like after I saw the first two. From the moment it ended I really didn't have an urge to really ever rewatch the film.
How could y'all not tell SM3 was going to be horrendous before you saw it? I remember facepalming to the TV Spots.
I'd probably have to say Transformers 2. I expected something on par with the first one, which I still enjoy even now, but was treated to an unfunny, loud, and militaristic two and a half painful hours of in-your-face terribleness. I think the topper for me was that the crowd I was with was eating that **** up. Oh, and there were like 25 babies screaming the entire time. It was a 10:30 PM showing...the ****?
