Yes, I don't remember a single time I cringed at dialogs. Dialogs are perfect. No freaking "I didn't sign up for this!!!" or "He's just kinda hot".

So I love Man of Steel, it's probably my second favorite comic book film of all time behind Dark Knight, but having seen Batman V Superman it just might be on top. I was so impressed with this film. I will post more thoughts soon. Also how are we not talking/speculating about the deleted scene that was released? Steppenwolf???

It's weird, the more you think about this film and talk with other fans on their take, the more this movie gets better and better.

You see people are comparing this too much to Avengers. Instead, they should be comparing this to Incredible Hulk, Ironman 2 and Thor which were the second line of the Marvel phase.

And yes, Superman and Batman should be MORE than Hulk or Ironman.

But that's the other problem, Supes and Bats are raise to a higher degree that if it fails expectations then others would not be satisfied.

While lesser superheroes on the other hand, have nothing to lose, so when they pass expectations....the makers of those films are considered geniuses.

As I said to BH a few months ago, I've never read much solo Superman GN's/TPB's, could anyone recommend any serious/darker stories for me to get a hold of?

Kingdom Come is a must, Red Son is a great elseworlds tale.

To be the best telling of his origin is Superman Birthright. I'd also recomnend Superman Earth One.

To me, the best way to look at BvS is like a season finale of a TV show. A lot of game changing and emotionally draining events, with a cliffhanger to hint at what's to come. Suicide Squad might be like the season premiere, picking up with some different POVs from new characters. Then we get the obligatory flashback episode with WW, before ultimately jumping back into the big story of the DCEU which is JL.

I think that deleted scene show why Lex seemed to go off the rails and was all nutty (moreso than normal) for the 2nd half of the film.

I think this scene adds something for sure. In the final scene Lex indeed wasn't himself and it looks like we know why.

Did you notice it never said the title anywhere? I mean Man of Steel the title card came on before the end credits in that film but they didn't bother here. I wonder why?

yeah Man of Steel had the title in the end but atleast it was the same style used in marketing. It didn't have one in the beginning. Was he going the Nolan style?

But in BvS, I think there wasn't any in the end, but it had one in the beginning with simple font during the Wayne murder scene. And I loved that, felt like a Drama movie was coming up.

"The North Africa scene in BVS makes no sense. The ultimate cut features the full version of the scene and is the reason for R rating."

I wouldn't say it makes no sense, but excited to see.

@Marz: yeah, it looks like this was totally planned.

For the deleted scene, it definitely explains like y'all said why Lex knows exactly that Darkseid is coming and why he's so effed up, being in a pool of blood I think is something that's more suited to a R rated cut than PG13.

I reckon they'll Tir h the people they shot so to make it look like they were burned alive by Supes heat vision. Although even without that people keep saying they'd check the bodies and they'd have bullet holes. Has no one really though that maybe there's a cover up? Led by Lex? After all it's his guy that does it.

It also makes sense that he knew what sound the mother box made.

I don't think Superman is going to become evil. I think the nightmare scene was Bruce thinking of a post Apokoliptic world because of Superman. Dreams tend to manipulate reality and trick you into things. I can't tell you how many times my dreams were distorted when I would be dreaming of somebody in my dream, but IN my dream, it was interpretating that person as somebody else.

I remember waking up from dreams and being like "Man, I drempt of Mike last night, but his name was Bob for some reason, but I knew it was Mike!"

That's what happened in the dream sequence. Bruce's nightmare is being distorted into thinking he's dreaming about Superman. It's really Darkseid.

I'm hoping it's Ultra Man from a different Earth.

Rewatching MOS (stopped about 40 min in, goddam thunder) and yeah, MOS over BvS for me, and I LOVE BvS (seeing it in 2D second time on Wednesday). The Krypton opening is jaw dropping, gorgeous visuals, incredible CG, great performances by Crowe, Shannon and Zurer.

The cuts, the transitions from him as an adult, to him as a teenager, the bus rescue, him and Pa Kent, then as a kid with Ma Kent, the anxiety of his powers, back to adult, the discovery of the ship. It's truly a masterpiece for me.

I literally well up a couple of times in those first 40 min alone, the natural birth, destruction of Krypton, the whale scene (god the cinematography !), the discussion between Clark and his dad, etc.

The cinematography is goddam gorgeous too, so natural. Zack is such a gifted storyteller and visual artist. And the score, goddam, BvS' score is great, but MOS' can't be touched.

Blows my mind, still.

I would totally love to see Ultimate cut on the big screen. But they won't do it, since it's R and 3 hours.
