Same here.
Me too.
Same here.
- Bilbo: Well, at least the worst is behind us!
- Everyone in the theater: HAHAHAHA
People in my theater laughed at that too, I loved the overall comedic tone of the film, fit was just pure, unweighted fantasy and I loved it.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey made $10.1M Thursday to bring it back to #1 and its domestic cume to $189.7M.
I don't understand the hate on the visual effects. Specially for the Great Goblin. I thought he was amazing. The facial movement was perfect.
And the detail was amazing:

Maybe I should give back that crow I ate. Looks like the Hobbit will be no 1 for a 3rd week and pretty much have no drop or even an increase over last weekend.
I hope Mr Shore is okay.![]()
Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield) talks here about his excitement to be involved in the filming of "The Battle Of Five Armies" for The Hobbit: There And Back Again, while second unit director Andy Serkis also teases the epic scale of the fight sequence!
The news that The Hobbit was being split into three movies was met with a mixed reaction from fans, but perhaps the best part about the announcement was the fact it meant we will get to see "The Battle of Five Armies" brought to the big screen. It hasn't even been shot yet, but talking to Empire Magazine recently, Richard Armitage had this to say about the battle sequence. "It's been put aside until next year, thankfully," he joked. "It's this big thing looming over us. I'm predicting about ten weeks for the shoot because it's an extensive battle and each character is going to have their 'hero' moment on the battlefield. It's a manic fight in the air - the eagles are fighting bats - and on the ground, and I can't wait to see what Pete does with that." That's right, the battle will see men, elves, dwarves, orcs and eagles all facing off for the future of Middle-Earth! It falls to second unit director Andy Serkis to handle the action, but he isn't letting the pressure get to him. "It's going to be intense beyond belief. It's going to be extraordinary - that's all I can say." The Hobbit: There And Back Again is set to be released on July 18th, 2014.
Its not hitting $400M domestic at this pace and it didn't do $65-$70M in its second weekend like "you called." Man up. Eat your crow.
I was thinking, I wonder if some of the Hobbit's problems were due to Andy Serkis's Second Unit direction? He handled quite bit of the Hobbit's action scenes, and it could explain why the fighting in this film seemed more cluttered and to possess less ''weight'' compared to LOTR fights. He is also directing the action in th Five Armies Battle which has me kind of worried.
No it didn't, and if you bothered to read my post I said I was wrong and it was a bad drop. However it recovered very well during the week, and it will make another 35-36 million this weekend, and will remain the no 1 movie against heavy competition, plus it will come up against another mon-tues holiday where it should still have very strong numbers.
Maybe I should give back that crow I ate.
Side note is there a reason why I can't vote for this film? It keeps saying it's closed.
