Now the reviews make me want to see this.

... I hate how there is a post-credit scene, apparently. I'm getting sick of them.

I feel like this movie has lots of people with strong followings, but no one that is like full on box office gold. Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day, and Guillermo Del Toro are all loved by their fans, but none of them really carry a movie, financially speaking.

Their fans need to unite, Captain Planet style.

I believe it isn't sequel bait, more like a joke.

All for post-credits scene. Nice little treat for those who stay.

Been said already on the previous page, but yeah, GA has no effing clue who del Toro, Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam or any of the other cast members are. Aside from guys like Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, etc, the A-list guys, there are no draws for movies BO wise, it's really word of mouth, and the buzz that do it all.

Either way, I don't like them. Marvel and Jerry Bruckheimer are guilty of making it 'cool', and now even DW and Pixar are doing it.

I yearn for the days where every 'big' movie didn't do it.

Why does it matter? The movie does end when the credits role. The other scenes are fun incidentals for those who stay through the credits.

Just sound like a complaint to complain.

Personally, I don't see the big deal with them if its irrelevant to the film or any that might come after it. Just something extra for people that want to stay and see it.

I work at a multiplex (mainly cleaning auditoriums), and you wouldn't believe how many people stick around in hopes of seeing 'something after the credits' even after I politely tell them there isn't one for the movie they've just seen.

Blame me for being an old fogey.

Why do they need to leave as soon as the credits start to roll? I never leave before the credits end, and that has nothing to do with "extra scenes".

I think it's so weird that not even Will Smith can guarantee box office anymore.

That first spot said "....why you go to movies"
I hate when they start to get presumptuous.

Anyways
If WWZ starred Idris Elba, anyone think it might have made the same amount?

I'm also getting sick of the "Star Wars for a new generation" quote. We got it alot with The Avengers last year.

No since 95% don't know who Idris Elba is.

They've been doing that for a long time. Masters of the Universe (!) was called the Star Wars of the 80s. The Fifth Element was called the Star Wars of the 90s. Critics are dumb.

You know what is going to be the "Star Wars for a new generation"? Star Wars. Disney ain't stupid.

I feel like the whole mecha thing is kind of like a niche that's the problem. Audiences can actually dig it then you know, cool.

I don't care which movie it is for the critic quotes are always a little cheesy. It is harmless though, I watch the spots to see more footage.

I think its weird that some critics feel its necessary to lay on the snark as thick as possible when giving a negative review, it just makes it seem like they are just ripping on the film for the purpose of that snark and proving how witty they are rather than anything to do with the film itself.

Also, while they are free to think what they like, many critics are quick to prove that they are not at all willing to engage with or level with certain kinds of material. Writing a film off as a "overblown power rangers special" doesn't even actually require someone to even see the film and such reviews aren't particularly helpful to anyone.

Also, Variety's Rotten Tomatoes blurb for their negative review describes the film as a a crushed-metal orgy that plays like an extended 3D episode of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" on very expensive acid."

It might be a matter of personal taste, but that actually strikes me as a selling point rather than a warning.

And people seem to forget that it wasn't Marvel who created the idea too.....The MUPPET MOVIE (1979) had Animal after the credits telling people to go home...the same with FERRIS BEULLER'S DAY OFF (1986), Ferris walks out and asks what people are doing still in the theater and tells them to go home. There are a few more, but that comes to mind quickest.

Rugrats movie has stuff during the credit crawls too.

The credits are part of the film and they really should be getting people to stay and watch them. More interesting stuff during the credits though... not just after. I've even had to tell off movie theater workers who tried to make me leave so they could have more 'cleaning' time.

They stopped when I demanded my money back for trying to toss me out before the film ended.

The cleaners tried to kick you out? That has never happened to me.

Yep though it has only happened twice.
Some theaters where i am run the movies so close together they have no choice but to clean during the credits.
