The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Paul Giamatti IS Rhino - Part 2

Looks great.

I don't understand anyone who complains about this design now that we see what he looks like in all his glory and moving. Rhino as a human face on organic body? I much prefer this.

I can't wait to see him in this movie. I REALLY hope he gets a bigger part (even if it's just slightly bigger) in TASM3. Paul has so much obvious passion for the character.

That's what landed him the role too. Webb saw his tweets about wanting to play Rhino and said "He's hired." It's great to have actors/actresses that are passionate about the characters cause it makes for better performances.

Right, how many actors out there actually want to play a Russian Mobster that turns into a robot rhino. Giamatti is about the only person for that role, perfect casting choice.

It helps too that he's also so talented. I remember seeing an interview with Andrew during the SDCC event and Andrew said something like, paraphrasing of course, "Marc called me over and had me watch a some taped footage showing Paul riffing as Aleksei. There I saw Paul doing Aleksei for about 10 minutes of just ranting and dialoguing as that character and it was absolutely amazing. It was like 'wow' this person actually exists."

Ok so most people ITT said to wait until we had a clear shot of the suit before commenting. Well now that we have, am I greenlit to express my dislike or do I need to wait to see it in action?

I like Giamatti, really good choice, I can totally imagine him, but I got very mixed feelings about that suit...erm.. just LOL! It looks like a chubby Transformer from where I'm sitting.

I don't understand how you could possibly dislike it.

I like the mech Rhino version better than the cross species,but this mech suit is too bulky.He should of been more streamlined.This one is just a blob of machinery,it's like a bunch of junk from a junkyard was slapped together and got transformed into this version that we're getting.

I think they nailed it then because that was the point of this Rhino.

I remember that. I also think Andrew said Paul's performance made him want to step up his game.

So far I don't really like the looks of either of the three villains, I must say. Goblin let me down too (@ least it beats the "cartoon" from Raimi's SM1), but I think Electro is OK, still I 've got mixed feelings about him. But, as long as the movie will be good...

I wonder if he's able to speak when the helmet is on. His Russian accent on a microphone amplified through the streets making threats at Spidey would be hilarious.
