Person Of Interest - Part 2

I think they've shown way too much of Fusco being in danger in the promos for me to actually believe it's him that dies. I'm guessing it's [blackout]Carter, and the bit in the promos with Shaw saying "I'm sorry, Lionel" and him breaking down into tears, it's him learning that she's been killed[/blackout].

I could see this,
I can see Taraji P. Henson wanting to leave the series to branch out into doing more films.

Oh I'm calling it now, I think Finch will be left with very little choice but to let Root out so she can save Reece (the machine will tell her to do it).

[BLACKOUT]But I'd be really sad if Carter died. I love Taraji and she's been wonderful. :csad:[/BLACKOUT]

You know, I always figured Finch's proclamation at the end of the pilot - "Sooner or later, both of us will probably end up dead. Actually dead this time", would come to pass at some point in the series. I had once put it down to watching too much Game of Thrones, but not anymore. :o

Anyway, at this point, I think that any of Reese, Carter or Fusco could bite it in the end. I'm kind of leaning towards John at the moment - as much as I don't want it to happen, I don't think it's a coincidence Shaw's become a permanent part of the team this season.

Yeah, but it's like the EPs said...
After you have previewed the promo, consider this statement issued to TVLine by POI executive producers Jonah Nolan and Greg Plageman: “We promised our actors and our audience that these characters wouldn’t be static, stuck in an endless loop — that they would have a journey. And, of course, every journey comes to an end.” Yikes.
It would be lame if these guys were just doing the same stuff year after year for over a decade like CSI, and we only end up losing characters when the actors get bored of being there.

Very good point. As sad as losing beloved characters is, the truth is that when the stakes are raised like that, the end result is: http://youtu.be/qUPvEZHN4pE?t=21s

To me, the heart of the show has been the chemistry between Finch and Reese. Getting rid of any of those 2 dramatically alters the show and I don't think for the better. Taking out one of the other characters changes the show but not to the point it's completely different.

someone on another board bought up an interesting theory, what if Reece isn't the victim.

You know, this reminds me that we always assumed that Reese's number coming up meant he was the victim.

But what if it actually means he is the perpetrator and some one else, possibly Fusco, is the victim? I don't think Reese would harm him directly, but his actions/choices could cause the death. Being complicit in Fusco's death would certainly send Reese into a spiral of remorse and self-destruction.

possible spoilers
Jim was spotted during a taping of episode 11 and it looks like he his growing out a beard ,looking very angsty

That's a good theory.

However, I think it would it be Carter's death that would drive Reese to that point. It's hard to say though, losing her would be like killing off Jim Gordon. It's not a decision they would make lightly. I'm still betting on Fusco, as much as it saddens me.

Oh ****, what if it's Bear?! Nooooo!

I've seen the
Bear
idea floating around but I'm not sure they'll do it since the producers and cast absolutely love him and don't mind working with an animal.

[BLACKOUT]Yeah, but I'd rather Lionel go than Carter.[/BLACKOUT]

I loved Carter's plan and the way she executed it, she has developed much further than I ever thought she would, I just fear that bringing down HR will see her go out in a blaze of glory.

Next weeks ep looks like the Clint Eastwood film 'The Gauntlet'. :woot:

I think it's

Fusco that will die

Because they just introduced Carter's ex in Laz "He could be a decent Luke Cage" Alonzo

bear dying is not a big shocker people are really reaching.its one of the main cast either fusco or carter.the promo is too heavy on fusco so it could be carter since she has a movie career going anyway.they showed us her ex so we know he will take care of her son.

It may be Carter because:

There are rumors that Taraji P Henson is going to be in the James Brown biopic which is currently shooting.

I don't think anybody dies (and I'm pretty sure I read about Henson filming in post-Endgame episodes). I think a hero does Fall, and by that I mean that Carter will Fall, and burn her career to the ground in the process of taking down HR. At the end, she will fake her death and Team Machine will arrange a new identity for her, and she will join Team Machine in dealing directly with irrelevant numbers, Shaw will get to spend more time with her crush, and all will be (relatively) well.

Actually a pretty good way to look at it. Usually when people see "fall" thrown around, they assume it means someone dies. I still think someone kicks the bucket, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do something like what you posted.

I'd be happy if it plays out that way as Fusco can still provide the police support angle and it opens up possibilities for Carter who has grown beyond that IMO.

I get the feeling that Carter willl side with Elias with the end of the season.

As you can see from my above posts, I had thought about something similar earlier this season. What if Carter aligns herself with Elias to get back at HR, both Carter and Elias have somewhat ''mutual respect'' for one another, what if Carter finally feels like she has run out of options and sides with Elias?

That would be great if it went down like that

somebody posted a pretty good theory on how it might go down tonight
here is a theory:
I'm leaning towards Fusco dying. Reese
obviously puts Shaw on 'rescue duty', which
makes Carter angry (that he isn't taking care of
it himself, you can kind of see it right after he
tells her Shaw's on it). Shaw goes to rescue
Lionel, but ends up making a detour to rescue
his son from HR instead
fails to get there in tim (hence the scene where
she tells him she's sorry over the phone, and
he's crying). End result: Fusco's son is killed (or
taken away), Fusco is killed by HR, and Carter
blames Reese for not prioritizing him. Reese is
angry with Shaw for being unable to save both
the kid and Fusco...and thus the team is broken
(which Nolan confirmed would happen post
mid-season) and they can't rely on one another
anymore.

Awww...:csad:

They built up to it the entire episode too.
