I love Juniper too. That kind of humour and stuff reminds me of Dragon Ball. I guess it makes sense since both are Anime shows.

Did that original Plasma vs Rocket arc (cancelled because some of the destruction would've been disrespectful after the tsunami that hit Japan in '11) involve one of the stones related to Reshiram and Zekrom?

I don't know. They used the light stone for Reshiram in the one they did air.

Yeah. Anyway, caught up with the show. Quite good if you treat it like a reboot.

It kind of is a reboot and that's ok. Cause if you've been around since the beginning you're in your twenties. And that's fine cause I still watch it.

Some kids though haven't and they'll get lost in the references to the other regions and such. That's why they did the Charizard flashback episode to show how Ash got him and why it's important that he got him back.

Yeah I watched the first 2 seasons when I was younger and then I rewatched the Kanto, Johto and Hoenn Saga a few years ago.

Yeah, you're right - some references will be lost for those who just got into it this season. Yeah, good use of flashbacks and that's beneficial. And hopefully it makes them go back and watch the older seasons.

All in all, good but I hope Ash develops more in Kalos and please make the bad guys more formidable and slowly get rid of Jesse and James trying and failing to catch Pikachu. Also, make some of the companions a bit older - like 2 or 3 more years older so there can be more crazy stuff!

Did you watch the Diamond and Pearl seasons? Team Galactic and Pokemon Hunter J were very well done villains. On par with Mewtwo in the first movie, imo.

Yeah Pokémon Hunter J was great! Galactic was also well done.

Ok since we're talking about villains let's talk about our favorite villainous moments from the original Pokémon series.

Mine is simple. When Ash was at the Indigo Plateau and was getting ready to battle Richie when he got "called" by him to meet him in the forest. It was Team Rocket and they almost got Pikachu.

The catch was that Ash was so far away from the arena he almost missed his match. He had to use Pidgeotto to fly the Meowth Balloon to the stadium. Ash ended up losing the match to Richie. I truly believe if Pidgeotto wasn't tired from flying it would've tipped the match in Ash's favor.

So coming full circle here: Team Rocket cost Ash the match!

BTW, there's a new thing announced today. Pokemon Origins, which will be about Red and Green and is based directly on the games. Unclear currently if it's a special or an actual series.

And, hearing about Origins, I feel like I did years ago as a kid when I saw an advertisement for the Pokemon series coming to KidsWB.

BTW, there's a new thing announced today. Pokemon Origins, which will be about Red and Green and is based directly on the games. Unclear currently if it's a special or an actual series.

I hope it's a new series since I'll take any new protagonist over Ash at this point.lol

It's just that we've seen him for almost the last 20 y ears with nearly no development in him whatsoever. The only things that have changed about him are his choice in Pokemon and his clothes.

Ok I'll admit it looks cool. But.....I'm not sure how long this'll go. The anime keeps going cause it has new lands to explore, a lot of people are wondering if this'll be a short series.

Of course the original Pokémon series was supposed to be 80 episodes then be done and look what happened.

Oh and if they decide to do an English dub (they will). Then it would be awesome if they got the old English cast back. Having Veronica Taylor back as Ash's voice would be so incredible.

I was looking forward to the thought of having something interesting to watch anime wise for the Pokemon franchise.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Black and White was without a doubt one of the worst seasons that I've ever seen for the franchise. Ash was useless, he lost to several rookies, Iris was the Pokemon version of Sakura from "Naruto" when it came to her nagging, Cilan was one of the most annoying characters that I've ever seen, and they really missed their chance BIG TIME in adapting the Black and White 2 story arc involving Team Plasma using Kyurem in freezing Unova.

It's really sad to know that the black and white 2 anime promo and this OVA looks FAR SUPERIOR to the current anime.

I'll give you that B/W was weak in some areas but it was strong in others.

Also Kyurem was in the movie for the region so there's that. I didn't mind what they did with Reshiram.

Will definitely watch origins if it comes to the US.
