The Dark Knight Rises Runtime of Batman 3

I don't really care how long is it,so i put 3hours.When i saw TDK i was like "thats it.????".

yeah, i agree. let this be the Return of the King of Batman.

I voted 2 1/2 but honestly I could sit though 4+ hours and never get bored or what not. At this point I'll just be happy to hear an announcement in regards to a 3rd Batman by Chris. I expect it'll be around 2 1/2 anyways.

I want it to go to 3 hours but it will probably be around 2 and a half hours.

However long it needs to be.

I voted 2.5 hours, but I really don't care. All I know is that X-Men: The Last Stand would have been 10x better if it was just 30 minutes longer, so I say "as long as it's not too short, I don't care how long they make it."

Anything over 3 hours starts to lose my (and most people's) attention, no matter how good it is. The LoR RoTK, which was an excellent movie was barely tolerable after the 2nd ending.

Really, guys? Isn't it a bit too early to be discussing runtime?

between TDK and Watchmen next year (which i will just assume will be awesome), here's hoping ppl will be more receptive of a longer running time when they see the kind of quality that comes from that extra time.

If I could sit through FOTR extended, TTT extended, and ROTK back to back to back in one day....I would eagerly sit through however long a movie Chris wants to film. Since he liked doing IMAX so much, I hope doing even more minutes in IMAX of an epic movie helps his decision to come back. Hopefully he decides to push the IMAX envelope even futher this time.

If it isn't broken, don't fit it...so I'd have Batman 3 run at 2 1/2 hours ideally. I like it when a series of films aren't more than 5-10 minutes apart in length. It was jarring for the Spider-Man franchise to go from refined, well-paced 2 hour films to a bloated 2 1/2 hour film. Nolan has proven that he can use the time effectively and not bore the audience.

I say have it about the same runtime as The Dark Knight.

TDK alone already had a bunch of ADD crybabies complaining that it was too long, I would have loved it if it was an three hours but people would have *****ed.

For me it would be around 2 hours... TDK felt a half hour too long for my taste.

Batman 3. Volume 1.
Batman 3. Volume 2.

Longer the better, QOS is 106 mins with Theme song I felt it was too short.

Batman 3. Volume 1.
Batman 3. Volume 2.

I agree. Let it be 7 hours! Split however many times you want to Chris...

Haha we really are pathetic people aren't we? We get a quality 2 and a half hour film and we want more. We're greedy.

I blame Nolan.

There's no need for a three hour Bat flick.

THE LONG HALLOWEEN

PART ONE
Release Date: June 2011
Runtime: 160 Minutes
Villains: Joker, Riddler, Scarecrow, Deadshot, Bane
Other Characters: James Gordon, Lucius Fox, Julia O'Neil, Roman Sionis, Sal Maroni, Harvey Bullock, Rupert Thorne, Hamilton Hill, Peter Pauling
The film opens up with a cameo by Deadshot who has been hired by Detective Harvey Bullock to take down Batman, who has only started his crusade against evil only one year ago. Batman has no trouble in taking him down and then goes on to bigger problems as an ex-FBI agent begins stalking Bruce Wayne, trying to reveal his true identity to the world in forceful and violent methods in the form of riddles. Meanwhile Bruce has a new love interest, Julia O'Neil, a martial arts instructor. Rupert Thorne, in his conquest against Commissioner Gordon, manages to first have Mayor Anthony Garcia killed at the hands of Thorne's crony, Scarecrow. Thorne then has another crony, Hamilton Hill, replace him as Mayor while he focuses on digging up dirt against Commissioner Gordon, who he reveals to be having secret meetings with the Batman. Commissioner Gordon is then fired and replaced with another Thorne crony, Peter Pauling, who intensifies the hunt against Batman by bringing in the National Guard. Sal Maroni has survived his escapade with Harvey Dent and now lives to tell about it, hoping to incriminate Harvey Dent in the eyes of Gotham. However, Sal no longer holds his criminal strength and instead is replaced by Roman Sionis, a business rival of Wayne's.

The Joker escapes Arkham Asylum and continues his war against Gotham’s Three Knights, one of which he has already corrupted. He now turns his sights on Commissioner Gordon (this is just before he is fired). In a high-speed chase, Batman, in his new, sleeker Tumbler, chases Joker who is in a hijacked school bus (which contains Gordon’s son). Jumping over a draw-bridge he wrecks the bus, and then tumbles out as Batman lands safely to the side. Meanwhile Gordon arrives in his cop car, gets out and draws his gun on Joker. After sharing a few words, Joker pushes a detonator and the bus blows up, sending Joker cards everywhere! Gordon, enraged ***** his gun and aims it at Joker as he runs towards him screaming and crying. Just then Batman steps in and hits Gordon, knocking him over just as he pulls the trigger, which hits one of the citizens in the nearby crowd! Using this as leverage, Councilman Rupert Thorne has Peter Pauling replace Gordon as Commissioner. After this event, Batman and Gordon part ways. Just a few days later Gordon finds a warning message before running to his home to find it on fire. He then finds another message from Joker saying that he has his wife and daughter on the MCU roof. Gordon runs up the stairs of the MCU when he bursts through the roof of the door. Batman glides onto the roof. On top of the roof they find Joker beside a spotlight (not a Bat-light). Gordon’s daughter is tied to the turned on light and his wife is in the arms of Joker, who has a gun pointed at her. After a dramatic conversation, Joker pulls the trigger, shooting Barbara in the head. Gordon pulls out his gun and shoots Joker in the leg, causing him to fall to his knees. Joker then pushes the spotlight partly off the roof; his daughter dangling for life! Batman steps in and grabs Joker and slams him up against the wall. Finally he tosses him down a dark alley, in between the MCU and another building. Joker lands in a puddle, some of his makeup comes off. Batman jumps down into the alley and continues the brutal beating. Gordon rescues his daughter and then mourns over his wife. A few moments later we are introduced to a new villain, Bane.

Before Batman manages to capture Riddler, he (Riddler) makes his final attempt to reveal Batman’s identity. After sending a message all over Gotham saying he’s going to reveal his identity by burning the man’s building; in this case, Wayne Enterprises’ Headquarters. By doing some research, Wayne is given plenty of time to prepare; he sells the Headquarters building to rival Roman Sionis, who makes that his headquarters and in return, Sionis gives him most of all of his smaller buildings. On the day of the attack Batman does all he can to stop Riddler, but it’s too late. Roman Sionis’ new building begins to burn after an explosion. A set gasoline line makes the shape of a Bat signal. Sionis’ new building, previously Wayne’s headquarters, is the “center” of Gotham, in that it’s water and power is connecting to it. When it’s destroyed it sends a chain reaction through Gotham, blowing up each water and power buildings, blacking out all of Gotham. In this epic battle Batman tracks Riddler down and fights him in the middle of the night, in pitch dark (except for the light given off by the fires and explosions). In the middle of all this, Bane, Joker and Scarecrow enter the scrap against Batman as well the SWAT, GPD, National Guard and FBI who all fight against both Batman and Riddler. This epic battle almost destroys Gotham. Meanwhile, in the wake of the bombing on Sionis’ new building, Sionis gets caught up in the middle of it and has his face badly burnt with molten rock, which sticks on the chin, cheeks, forehead, part of the nose, part of the front neck and partly through his hair. The rest of his hair burns off leaving a burnt scalp. During this final battle Gordon manages to prove Batman’s innocence and stop the GPD, FBI and National Guard assault on Batman. He is once again made Commissioner. During Batman’s battle against Bane, Scarecrow, Joker and Riddler, his back is broken and he is tossed inside a burning building. Bruce manages to make it out, but with major burns, a broken back and arm. Riddler is caught and imprisoned.

Even though Part One: The Long Halloween and Part Two: Shadow of the Bat are released separately, they'd really be one huge film entitled "The Batman", which Christopher Nolan reveals publicly to be his last. Everyone from the cast to the score writers (Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard) do the absolute best and most epic job they've ever done... "Christopher Nolan's The Batman" beats Titanic by a long shot. On the day that Part 2 is released in November in theaters, Part 1 is released on DVD. Then after both are released on DVD, a Trilogy pack is created.

BATMAN BEGINS
THE DARK KNIGHT
THE BATMAN

THE BATMAN manages to tie up Ra's Al Ghul's storyline from "Begins" as well as Joker's from "TDK". He also finally re-enters his mansion and he finally has a bat cave like that of the comics. He also obtains a Batmobile like the Tumbler, but more like the comic-book version. By the end of this 5 Hours and 30 Minutes film Gotham's future ends up looking a little bit brighter, but first it descends into it's deepest state yet. In the end Batman is finally called a hero and everything looks brighter. Bruce even meets a new girl, Vicki Vale, who he falls in love with. But before this last Batman film is ended, we get to see Joker, with no makeup and no green hair, sitting alone in the darkness of Arkham Asylum, in a straight jacket. We also hear rumors of a Cat-woman in Gotham, which ends the film not in a cliff-hanging way, but instead show that even though the series is officially ending, Batman's life continues, as does his foes.

Yeah, a three hour Bat-film ain't gonna happen. Maybe a couple minutes shorter than TDK. Possibly the same.
