#GayPanic is fun.
I think those guys are playing at Coachella.
#GayPanic is fun.
#GayPanic is fun.
If it's a minor issue even to you why the preamble that it's a chicken comes home to roost type deal? Very odd.
The idea that anyone wouldn't watch this film because "they made Sulu gay" is utterly insane.
I doubt the general public cares about fan film lawsuits with Star Trek.
Paramount/CBS are pushing the Trek brand like it's the 90s. If they wanted to reach a larger audience, they wouldn't be using Trek on CBS' streaming service instead of across multiple platforms like Netflix or Amazon.
Marvel/Disney had GOTG cartoon ready to go after the movie so it stays in rotation for kids to be excited about the next movie.
It's not simply the fact they waited 4 years after the reboot movie.
this movie is in trouble they did good overseas with into darkness because of benedick cumberbatch was the draw overseas this one not so far
The fact that I said that it was bigoted to retcon a straight character into being gay because the actor playing said character is gay disproves your BS claim of "gaypanic".
Because they went against Gearge Takei's wishes and behind his back. It's also bigoted to retcon a straight character into being gay SOLELY because the actor playing said character is gay. It sends the wrong message and perpetuates the bigoted stereotype that gay actors can and should only play gay characters.
It's not insane. There are people out there who expect and want the character to be "on model". A gay Sulu is not "on model".
Quoted for the truth.
That is a very good point. They should have put out a NU TREK animated series that tied into the new movie continuity.
I'm not going to get into the Sulu discussion again but..
Yeah they should've attempted at a Trek cartoon series, GOOD or BAD. It doesn't matter.
Also, the toy situation is complicated since CBS controls the merch, not Paramount (which frustrated Abrams). So most of the toys and statues are based on the old Trek, not the new. That's why we haven't seen the Hot Toys statue of Chris Pine.
The only thing nu-Trek has are the Pop Vinyl toys.
I'm not sure if a youth oriented animated series is the answer. Would it even do that well?
I didn't love the swarm either. I don't like it when a big part of the threat has no tangible personality. The swarm to me was as lifeless as when Fantastic Four and Green Lantern decided that their villains should take the form of massive smoke clouds.
One thing that has always bugged me is a lack of a GOOD ST video game. I've played alot of them, all are crap imo.
Meanwhile, SW has put out some awesome games.
Avatar/Voltron/Gundam level writing? Yeah.
Nicktoon level?No
