It was 100% GL who wanted to use Greenscreen for everything. Not saying he would, just that I hope the studio doesn't push him into it.
I never got the nerd hate for Abrams. I assume because he reminds us too much of ourselves.

Direct quote from last month's Empire: "There were very early conversations and I quickly said no because of my loyalty to Star Trek and also just being a fan, I wouldn't want to be involved in the making of those things. I'd rather be in the audience not knowing what was coming."What was all that nonsense about him turning it down?
Forget the shaky cam....can you imagine the amount of lens flares that will be going on during light saber battles?Just don't want lightsaber with shaky cam.
Or he was just lying which is honestly fine seeing as it ruins the suspense anyway.Direct quote from last month's Empire: "There were very early conversations and I quickly said no because of my loyalty to Star Trek and also just being a fan, I wouldn't want to be involved in the making of those things. I guess he changed his mind.
Super 8 is actually the reason why I'm thrilled with this choice. Super 8 really shows how much love Abrams has for the old Amblin/Lucasfilm movies of the 80's and him directing Episode VII really shows the direction they want to take this movie. Not very thrilled about the choice, even with the planets and all there was something in his Star Trek that made me feel like it didn't have a big enough scale. I like him as a director and loved Super 8 but i'm not sure he's the man for the job
So he's a liar? He's disloyal?Direct quote from last month's Empire: "There were very early conversations and I quickly said no because of my loyalty to Star Trek and also just being a fan, I wouldn't want to be involved in the making of those things. I'd rather be in the audience not knowing what was coming."
