Superman Returns Suit, Muscle.. is Brandon the problem?

Well we have to remember, though I think it's still a good one, that picture isn't very flattering to the average fan boy...I just think we'll see how much he is or isn't(which I don't think he is) when a trailer comes out or even until the movie...until then...thumbs up all the way for this film for me

I've said it and so have others - why do people keep posting pics of that O'hearn guy? He looks like a tacky porn star. Seriously. And he's too 'comic' in my opinion. Like he looks too big to portray Superman in a realistic way that can even remotely relate to viewers. At least Routh would look like a normal guy dressed in casual clothes. O'hearn would like like a gorilla. It's too unrealistic.

I seriously think Routh is fine. He's good looking, he's obviously built, and here's hoping that he can act (which is hopefully why he got the role primarily). So ...

... what's the problem?

I think Routh looks great as Clark, however some of his Superman pics are less flattening.......but I'm cool with him thus far.

Brandon Doosh doesn't look like Superman, he looks like Superboy. They should have kept the guy from Smallville in the Superman role...he looks the part, and everyone already knows him as such.

I mean, I think both Welling and Routh looks Superman............and Routh is actually younger than Welling......so that's something to think about too.

I disagree...I like Welling and I like SV..but if Welling would of done the movie SV would of went off the air.... and IMO Brandon Routh does look like Superman NOT Superboy..he looks to old to be Superboy and not EVERYONE knows Welling.....EVERYONE doesn't watch SV. And even if Everyone did know Welling...Singer wanted and he got an unknown for the part.

the fact remains that he looks a hell of alot more like Superman than the majority of the people on this board. its funny because a year from now everyone is goign to be praising his performance. thinking back I don't even think Christopher Reeve got all the respect people are praising him with until after he had his accident. Hell the guy did 4 Superman films and 2 of them were bad films. The first film was good mainly because of him but even then he caught crap before and after the film was released, many people hating how he portrayed Clark Kent and others feelign he woudl nto cut it as Superman. I give it a year and everyone will love Brandon. Comic fans are like that, that's why no one takes them seriously.

BTW..Topher will be great as Eddie/Venom...most likely they will be doing the Ultimate Spider-Man version where Eddie isn't a big muscle bound guy...so Topher will work out..but this is the Superman boards so I won't discuss it anymore here.

First of all, my friend, I seriously doubt that they are going to mix Spiderman "worlds". Ultimate Venom is cool...Ultimate Eddie Brock sucks the big meat stick. As does Topher "eric foreman" Grace. I pray that Kirstin Dunst is just a liar, and that skinny bag of bones will be playing a lesser villian. It's too early for Venom anyways, he needs his own series of films.

ANYWAYS back to the subject. Routh will probably be a decent actor, but that is not the point...it is his looks. Check out a Superman comic, he doesn't fit into the equation. He just doesn't do it for me, but you are right...everyone will bad mouth him, and in the end, he will be praised and cried for when the "Superman Curse" grabs a hold of him.

Topher Grace WILL make a good Venom. He could pull off that arrogant, prick college kid with his head upside down.......the SPIDER-MAN films are edged towards ULTIMATE, remember that one.

Routh looks like Reeve.......so in my book he looks like Superman. Welling looks like Superman too, though. But......Routh is Superman, so that's that.

Why is it hating? some just have a vision of what Superman should look like others dont agree with it, its not like everyone is asking for Reeve's corpse to be dug up so he can take the role again

I agree, IF Routh doesn't look the part.......then Welling and Reeve don't either. They all look the part. The only thing that Routh has against him is that he's slightly smaller than Welling and Reeve. Reeve was 6'4....and Welling 6'3 1/2.

And your right.....Welling is far from "famous". People know him as, "Superman in Smallville." He's not a household name......although not as unknown as Routh for sure.
