If that is true I don't think much is getting cut. They have to turn in the finished film in a roughly 2 weeks. I'm not expecting them to lop out an additional 15-20 minutes last minute. Don't see it happening.

If this is three hours....:wow::wow::wow:

Forgive my ignorance, but who is Roger Nall? why are we believing him? who is his wife? Just need some info before I lose my s*** in excitement.
She managed to read the script last year before filming began.

Im loving the batman Empire cover its the best this current batsuits ever looked.

I totally agree with you. I love Nolan's Batman and his interpretation of the character and his villains thus far, but if Batman has been gone for an entire 8 years (literally... as in not working in the shadows at all), I'd be pretty disappointed.

A nod to comic fans like us would be a nice little moment in the film, but I'm not pinning any hope on it.
It just doesn't seem like Nolan's style. And I'm fine with that. The Nolanverse is just that; Nolan's universe.
But imagining his take on the villains we have yet to see in his films will left to our imaginations in that 8 year gap, kind of like the gaps between A New Hope and Empire, or between Empire and Return of the Jedi.
That gap will be the product of speculation and fan fiction for decades, and the Nolans know this.

If it's currently 3 hours or longer, it'll be interesting to see how much gets chopped out when it's said and done.

Prolly nothing will be cut. It already has a rating so it can't be cut without resubmitting it. Can't see them doing that.

Three hours? Well there went a lot of theories. :D

Nolan's shooting script is usually his final script and completely keeps to it when filming. So whatever the running time is now you can bet your ass it wont be shortened by that much.

This would explain the whole two-projectors thing Rag was talking about for the IMAX showings.

Just......yes...

So what's this thing that IMAX can't play more than 3 hours shindig. I've always heard that.

I guess they have two interchangeable projectors or something?

It's locked. I'm pretty sure they need to lock in editing before sound mixing, and my sound mixer friend said they did all the sound mixing for TDK in April. If they change it, they need to re-mix the sound and there's no time.

So 3+ hours it is! :awesome:

I hope it didn't just feel like 3 hours, but actually isn't in running time.

It is funny, because many speculated that it had to be pretty long and yet most thought it couldn't be because of the studio. Looks like Nolan really did get his way on pretty much everything.

3 hours..my God..this is going to be special. Plus..only reason Avatar and Titanic are at the top of the $$$ chain is because they are over 3 hours so now this is a sure fire notice that TDKR will be the top earner of all time AND it'll be as long as ROTK so winning all the Oscars too then ;)

:woot:
