God I hope not. I don't want Selina's backstory in any great detail. I've liked the fully formed villains of Ra's and Joker without the need for explanation. I want this one to focus on Bruce.
Do we know what the relationship is between John Blake and Selina? He seems to have a very prominent role, judging by the trailers.

Forget Selina's backstory. Her story, especially outside of Bruce, will need time to develop.

3 hours seems slightly indulgent but if the film needs to be 3 hours for Nolan to tell it completely to finish Bruce's story, so be it. It won't break any box office records. People will whine about the length but if this thing really lands at around three hours, then Nolan's going for broke in a big, big way....

You could say he's going for broke or you could say he's being extremely indulgent. Obviously we'll have to wait to see the movie itself. But with there being around 28 minutes more of IMAX footage than TDK, I hope to hell this isn't simply a case of them adding around 30 minutes of action onto TDK's runtime. Action for the sake of action causes me to tune out in a hurry.

Until a confirmed runtime is posted I am going to continue with the idea that it is in fact 3 hours.

I dont know who Paul Franklin is anynore than the other guy who claims to have seen ascreening but Paul is dashing my excitement sso i wont be listening to him.

If it is true, it doesn't sound like the woman is a journalist anyway. Paul Franklin is right about that at least. Which journalist read the script and has enough access to see a cut days after they finalized VFX? Doesn't sound like any journalist I know :funny:

Who is this guy who claims his wife saw the movie? Dragon asked Paul Franklin about it and he said it's "unlikely"

That is right. Gone with the Wind was completely indulgent. :o

Yes...but it would be counter to Nolan's MO. In 2008, by the time Wally spoke at Cine Gear Expo in mid-June, they were already midway through printing the reels. He even finished Inception like, 2 weeks early.

Leaving a 20-minute cut to the last minute would be VERY unusual. :funny:
Sorry, what exactly are you referring to here? I was saying that it was most likely locked a while back if they had gone into sound mix and if the release date is in two months.

Completely agree. But, from his films, he doesn't do action for the sake of action. So, if this does end up being true, then there's something more.

Personally, I didn't think Knight was long at all, although I know it's a common complaint.

It just all depends on how it flows, the pacing. And if three hours is it, so be it.

Darkhunt is becoming the next Goku Goes Crazy.

He's the visual effects supervisor for TDKR. He was also the VFX supervisor for TDK, Inception, & Batman Begins.

Did Gone With The Wind have as much action as TDK with another 30 minutes of action tacked on? I hope to hell the extra 30 minutes is mostly character stuff and not just mind-numbing action scenes. Besides, I happen to think GWTW was indulgent in many ways and not anywhere near as great as a lot of other folks seem to think. You want a great 3+ hour movie? Godfather 1 and 2 will do the trick IMHO.

If you say TDK was 10-15 minutes too long what scenes should have been taken out?

This is Nolan's magnum opus so if he says it needs 3 hours to tell the story then that's what it is going to get. It is his story and after two great films and great Box Office returns he deserves to tell it his way. In Nolan I trust!

I'd be surprised if it isn't 3 hours, seems like there is quite a lot in this film.
