With Henry Allen in jail it's pretty much confirmed the Reverse Flash exists in the DCEU but I'm not sure if he'll be the villain in the first solo.

If the villain isn't one of the reverse Flashes I'd be surprised. I don't think the rogues are good movie villains. I think they should be apart of the core cast then maybe build up to a confrontation.

I go back and forth on this... I think that Prof. Zoom is the Flash's Lex/Joker/Green Goblin... But I would hold off on him for the second film.

I agree. I think the Rogues would be a fun place to start.

I forget who said it, or even word-for-word what was said, but after Deadpool hit, a writer I follow on Twitter said that it was a great example of a CBM without the sky-is-falling/world-ending stakes that Hollywood isn't doing enough of. TBH, that's exactly what Suicide Squad should've been, hopefully that's what the sequel will be, and I think Flash could pull that off as well.

Make it less, "I'm crazy" or "The World hurt me so I'm hurting it back" or "I am a true believer" or "My origin is tied with the hero" and more Deniro from HEAT, with the wrinkle of "This is about my rep."

Pretty much what I'd like to see, I'd love to see the Rogues and have the movie take influence from heist movies for their portrayal. Half superhero movie, half heist film. Save villains like Thawne for the sequel.

Apparently WB wants Jordan Peele, director of the recent movie Get Out to direct a big budget tentpole.

WB is courting him for Akira, but Jeff Snieder is also speculating that he could wind up with the Flash

Important to keep in mind, Jordan Peele recently stated in response to if he would direct a superhero movie

“My whole life, I’ve been like, ‘Oh, man, wouldn’t it be dope to be a part of one of these great reboots or revivals?’” Peele said. “Over the past eight years, I’ve come up with four other scripts in the social horror genre.”

Peele would definitely be interesting and he can handle the lighter tones of the flash too but they would have to give him creative control

I could see Peele working well with Miller. They have to get the ball rolling on this though. If Miller is a show stopper in JL they need to strike sooner than later.

I personally don't need a Flash movie series. One film would suffice. And that film should be Flashpoint Paradox! Done the right way. CW tried but they didn't have the budget or access to characters they needed to tell the story the right way.

But after seeing that JL trailer, I think well-executed Flash special effects alone are enough to sustain a successful franchise.

This was brought up in the Flash thread in the JL section but... What if Flash's film touches on the the Knightmare world/timeline? We know from BvS that Barry takes trip back for some reason. Flash as a character has always taken part in time travel shennanigans. Plus, this would allow for some JL cameos, say showing the fates of Knghtmare timeline WW or AM, while having a present set story that is all about Barry.

I think that would be awesome, but I just dont see it happening. The Knightmare was pretty divisive and I just think they will avoid it.
