Could be something ala Civil War. Featured a bunch of heroes but I felt the focus was definitely on Iron Man and Captain America.

The alternate versions of the JL heroes would be fun to see, and if they could snag
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan
as Flashpoint Batman/Joker it'd be really cool.

Also it'd be interesting to see if any new changes to the DCEU are made as a result.

So they may use the flash film to reboot and fix the problems in the synderverse huh ballsy move but a good idea

I'm really starting to hate how Flashpoint has become the "main" Flash story. It's gotten its own animated movie, a major focus in season 3 of the tv show, now this...

Flash has other stories. Get over Flashpoint, DC.

I'm with you

I'm really excited that it's flashpoint myself.

now cast dat reverse flash

Fixed that for you.

Hm. Flashpoint's pretty ambitious for the character's first solo outing. Could be great, but I figure why not start small and do something with the Rogues and then save Flashpoint for a sequel? That said, a Flashpoint film could still be great and open the door for some great battles. That and now just awaiting Jeffrey Dean Morgan's return.

Yeah, it got an animated movie. That's literally it.

The show teased the storyline, gave on episode of "Wally's the Flash now and Joe doesn't like me!" and then immediately switched things back. Even in that universe that was set up, and on a TV budget, they could've done so much more.

Wonder if they'll go on to adapt the full Thomas Wayne/Batman Flashpoint tie-in.

Would Flashpoint have been my first choice for Flash's solo debut? No, not really. But it doesn't feel like that extensive of a jump to a story. Like, it's not as if they just came out today and said The Flash: Crisis on Infinite Earths or something. This story at least incorporates a good deal of Barry's beginnings.

And, bonus, it'll teach him a valuable lesson not to f*** with time in future outings.

And then they brought it up just about every episode after the Barry "fixed" the timeline.

We'll be seeing the same story told again. For the 3rd time. When they could do literally ANY other Flash story.

Probably because they're scared JL is going to suck, and they want to option to reset the universe if they have to.

I'm not necessarily happy with this move but I can see why they've done it from a business point of view as they seem to have removed the Cyborg film in the process, maybe to test the audience reaction to him in JL and Flashpoint. But yeah, I agree with those who are annoyed at getting Flashpoint yet again. Why couldn't we get a full on Rogue's story? It just seems way too early in this universe, but I understand people saying that they'll be doing it to fix problems already apparent in the universe. So yeah you've got the presumed cancellation of Cyborg to test him in this and to fix the problems of the universe it makes sense for them.

Now, interns of what they'll do with the story I wonder how much they can do? Who are they going to bring back? So we need Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman and Wonder Woman. Are they going to First Avenger Henry Cavill and make him look small or recast with a similar looking actor? I'm quite looking forward to Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohen as Batman and Joker. Then there's going to be all the other roles. Who are going to make up the rest of the heroes? It'll be cool to see them maybe bring Cara back as Enchantress. Maybe bring back other members of the Suicide Squad as heroes instead of casting new people, or maybe put them on others teams. Like putting Croc with Aquaman instead of doing Aqualad and Garth being in his army. When you think of what they're doing in terms of story it seems like this is going to be the most difficult to get right, even more so than Civil War. If they alter the story like they did in the TV show or how Civil War did they will get torn about. Try and follow it faithfully they'll it's going to mean and awful lot of new characters being introduced and it not really being a Flash movie anymore. Or if they condense it down to just a few key characters they'll be criticised for cutting down and missing parts, like if they cut out all of the British underground movement.

This seems like such an odd choice to go with from even a story perspective. It's the first solo outing of a Flash that isn't overly experienced with fighting crime, nor does he have a solid relationship with many of the characters.

The interesting thing about Flashpoint was that it was a very experienced Flash who screwed it up, it's what made the decision so heavy. He should've known he shouldn't mess with time like that. Having an inexperienced Flash do something like that (while it makes sense) doesn't really have that same kind of weight.

Also seems odd to go the time travel route with the amount of times we've seen it on the show. Time travel isn't the Flash's main draw.

Yes, given the situation the DCEU is in I think this is possibly their 'get out of jail card' if needed - can't blame them for holding it.

I'm quite looking forward to Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohen as Batman and Joker.

We'll only get Joker if they include some of the Batman tie-in. She wasn't in the core story - but yes I'd like to see her.

Maybe Johns just really likes the story.

Sucks not being excited for your favorite superhero's first feature film

I have the same feeling, :( I feel like they think Flashpoint is the only interesting thing for him. I want him in something new be creative. I can see why directors dropped out if they have been so focused on Flashpoint.

I'm glad I'm not the only one

If they did Flashpoint as the third film of a trilogy? Sure! Let's do it! But why should we care about his life being changed this soon? Flashpoint was so effective because it was an experienced Flash who did it, not some newbie who's never been to battle.

I can see them using Flashpoint to pick and choose things to retcon from the current DCEU canon. Better than a total reboot anyway.

Still would've preferred Flashpoint to be the third movie in The Flash trilogy.

I think we'll know more post JL how this will be handled. I think that the story should be less "Flash Point" in the sense of sticking to that story and more, like CW, take the basis of the story as a starting point to do it's own thing, while keeping it a Barry centric story.

Woo I love flashpoint. It's a great epic story that doubles well as an origin story and it adds tons of layers to Barry.

I don't think they will use Flashpoint to recon anything. It's gonna be Barry and his time traveling shenanigans where he's gonna see the life he could of haved.
