The script for this was bad IMO and Webb didn't make a decent movie...he made a mediocre movie. Maybe Webb and Raimi both should have tried a little harder.
I think that's being really harsh, but I respect your opinion. Even SM3 wasn't mediocre IMO... Green Lantern was. TASM wasn't "amazing," but I would still say it was a good movie.

SM3 was pretty mediocre....so was TASM. The only things that saved TASM was Garfield and Stone. If it had been Tobey and Kirsten in TASM...everyone on here would be bashing it. Nothing in this movie was amazing by any means.

That's your opinion, and I disagree with you about TASM being mediocre. I guess if Heath Ledger wasn't in TDK, it wouldn't have been so amazing either.

garfield and stone were great! i think they should have had kraven if you were going to use the lizard.spiderman would have been trying to catch the lizard and protect him from kraven at the same time.the lizard as a solo villain wasnt enough no famliy angle and his big plot to turn everyone to lizards didnt work.

Kraven would have been cool, but what's done is done.

Webb is gone so it's not much of a battle.

He's gone. He would be giving interviews about his plans for the sequel...which he hasn't.

Spidey Making the web in the sewers - AMAZING
Spidey taking on the police - AMAZING
Spidey saving the boy on the Bridge - AMAZING
Spidey final swing - AMAZING

I get that you didn't like the movie and you are of course entitled to you opinion but your opinion is an opinion it isn't fact.

Maybe he just wants a time out to collect his thoughts rather than run off at the mouth when the script for the sequel isn't even completed.

Just like Nolan? After TDK came out, his response to questions about a sequel was something to the effect of, "Do 3rd installments ever turn out well? Yeah, I thought so. There's your answer."

Whedon's also talking about what a huge, exhausting undertaking the first Avengers was and how he also has other things he wants to do. It's typical director speak to deny plans until they've done their contract negotiations and signed on the dotted line. Doesn't mean they don't actually have plans.

Now, for the record, I'm not saying Webb is definitely returning. I personally think that could go either way at this point, especially with him still having a standing contract at Fox. I'm just saying his silence on the issue is in no way proof that he's not returning.

Totally agree. Unless I've missed a bit of concrete news that Webb isn't coming back, then the silence means nothing at this point. I think there was an article last week in some trade magazine saying that Sony wants Webb back and Webb (after some deliberation) now wants to come back, but that for it to happen he'd have to up his obligation to Fox from one film to two. So sounds like things need to be sorted out.

I wish Webb was making the rounds telling everybody that will listen that he is coming back because I want him to badly. However, just because there isn't any news reported so far doesn't necessarily mean he's gone.

Completely different scenarios from the other two. TASM has a set date for may 2014. There was/is no set date on the table for TDK or the avengers before either film was released as is the scenario for TASM.

As already mentioned to meet this date filming needs to begin in january so webb does not have the luxury to ponder and wait like nolan did and whedon does.

I don't think I would really miss Webb... but on the other hand I think he deserves another spin at it. With a decent script he might just improve.

No...according to most people, TAS-M was the third string when in the running with TDKR and Avengers.
I dont even care,TA and TDKR were supposed to to be doing better than it financially. We are talking about a conclusion movie and a movie having 5 movies behind it.
If someone is being dissapointing,it is TDKR,it was supposed to be breaking TA's record and it will now fall a whooping 400M behind TA's earnings, not even a comparison
Which is why you are forced to compare in to TASM which is without doubt the second most successful reboot after Star Trek(BB is far behind)

Who are these "most people" you assume to? The posters in the Spidey boards? :lmao:
People I've met in real life

Who says someone has the right to come up with a biased opinion and say the most outlandish thing such as TAS-M beating out TDKR?
In terms of expectations,Yes TASM has beaten TDKR.People expected TASM to do 700M at it has done that.Even the most optimistic lot expected around 800M and it is just 100M short of that compared to TDKR being TA being 400M short of TA's 1.5 billion, the mark it was supposed to break

As I said TDKR will end up around SM3's mark(adjusted for inflation),Dissapointing imo

Because Sam Raimi was forced to include the symbiote/venom storyline in Spider-Man 3 the last minute. Because of this, the film had to begin shooting while the script was receiving massive changes.

The symbiote was a not the only thing which spoiled the movie
IMO it is quite lower on the list of things that made the movie bad

TAS-M is a lot lot better than BB
If TAS-M is Mediocre,BB is ****

Can you tell me what was Amazing in BB?

Hell forget that,Can you tell me whatever was close to amazing
I guess not,the whole movie was a load of codswallop including the earnings

I hardly think that Batman Begins can be considered particularly bad by anyone's standards. Aesthetic preferences may differ but Begins is structurally very sound, more so than TASM.
