I think that MJ should have found out who Spider-Man is at the end of SM1. They were in a relationship for only one movie, so that's like a few months? And Peter was already asking to marry her. When she broke up with him, it wasn't even that big of a deal. SM3 should have taken place years after SM2!!!

I remember I knew a kid who hated the first two Spider-Man movies, and thought they were just boring. Then he said his teacher brought in a bootleg copy of Spider-Man 3 for everyone to watch, and he was saying how much of an improvement it was. I know it's all opinion, but...

:ikyn

She did. Remember the look of startled recognition after the kiss?

Spidey 2 was two years later, so 3 was at least a year later. And they'd known each other all their lives, so it isn't unreasonable that Peter would have asked her to marry him. John Jameson did and they would've only known each other for a very short time.

I don't know about this......... Flash was really a bully in the begining, he even beat up Peter real badly and

suddenly he has a change of heart and decides to be nice to Peter

It just seems a bit way off and unbelievable to me.

And the ending part, I thought it was really smart and clever Gwen manage to figure out the reason why Peter decides to leave her. This just makes me like Gwen even more, she is indeed smart and intelligent.
Yeah, I loved the fact that they did that. I didn't expect that and indeed, it made me love Gwen even more.

Totally agreed with what you said.

If you rewatch raimi's spidey movies, MJ and Peter only officially becomes a couple at the end of spiderman 2.

And it's so weird that at the begining of spidey 3, peter was ready to propose to her.

Would the guys who have seen it say there are more action scenes in Spider-Man 2002 ?

I thought that she knew at the end of SM1 originally, but she doesn't find out until SM2... y'know, that startled face before he saves her from getting crushed?

Just because SM2 takes place 2 years after SM1 doesn't mean much about SM3. Sam Raimi said it takes place directly after SM2, so maybe a few months at most.

In my opinion, the problem with the usage of MJ's character in Raimi's franchise was that she was the literally the basis for all of the things that drove Peter to do certain things (big things) throughout the films.

- He wanted to impress her with a new car, so he tries to make money at the Wrestling gig and we all know on how that went.

- Her life is threatened, hence the thing that leads into the climax fight with Goblin.

- He wants to have a normal life with her mainly, so he gives up being Spider-Man.

- He wants to have her and is pissed off that Harry forced them to break up, so he dons the black suit willingly despite being told not to, and we know what happens there.

At some point it got very boring, not to mention, as others have said, the way she was characterize made it difficult if not next to impossible to like her character.

Gwen's character from what I've been told from the film is a SEVERE IMPROVEMENT over Raimi's take on MJ, and I pray that whoever directs the film that introduces MJ will do wonders with that interpretation.

I'd say they're about the same, maybe leaning towards the new one having a bit more. It's hard to judge because the Spidey sections of the new film are a bit more continuous--once Lizard is doing his thing, there's a lot of Spidey from scene to scene (he's a character, not a stunt dummy). It's also a bit like BB, in that you're not just watching the clock until the hero shows.

If Gwen dies in the next movie, I bet people are going to say "they are copying TDK by killing off the love interest."

In SM2 you literally have to wait until 3pm for the fight to begin!

Raimi's movie did warn us right off the bat that the story is about a girl.:oldrazz:

Anyone dumb enough to make that claim should not be allowed to have children.

I loved when Spidey's just [blackout]chilling on his webs with his mask off playing a game on his cellphone while waiting for something to happen[/blackout].

I'm a Dark Knight fan, but it didn't reinvent the wheel. Stuff like that happening in the second film of a trilogy is nothing new. There's a number a very popular franchises that've used this formula on their second film in a trilogy.

lol yeah I know, but it seems like people are trying their best to say that TASM is copying Nolan's Batman universe.

TDK is an important film, but to compare TASM or its sequel to it would be more than a little ridiculous.

No, they have a different actress potraying Rachel in The Dark Knight so the shock impact to me wasn't really felt ....

It will be great to kill off Emma's Gwen in the sequel because it stays true to the comics and her death is what change and affect spiderman.

Also it will definately have a huge shock impact on the audiences....

It will be the first ever comic book movie where a major female character is killed off

The Dark Knight still counts even if you didn't feel the impact.

Why is TDK being brought into the discussion? Basically it will ignite another flame war.

I hope twenty years from now, someone will combine the things that SM1 got right with the things TASM got right to make the perfect Spider-Man origin movie.

Yeah, I can see that happening in 20 years or so. Although TASM2 won't be an origin story (obviously), it could be a "perfect" SM movie, especially if they get the death of Gwen Stacy right if they go that route.

Spidey fights the lizard 3 times in the movie,

the bridge scene wasn't really a fight between spidey and the lizard

well actually, the sewer scene is basically spidey escaping and running away from the lizard

so technically, spidey really fights the lizard twice, the school scene and the finale battle scene at the top of the building

The school fight scene is awesome, the best......

The finale battle scene is pretty good too.

I like this better than Raimi's Spiderman 1 because the green goblin appearance looks like a poor man version of a power rangers villian

and they don't kill off the lizard in this movie which is a well refreshing change for me.

In Raimi's movies, with the exception of Sandman, all the villians are killed off, thus eliminating any possibility of them appearing in future sequels.
