Well, the viral marketing shows that Richard Parker's cross-species work was in 1999. Dr. Ratha mentions that it's been 15 years. 1999 + 15 = 2014. Explains some of the hologram technology. Haha.

Hm.. the MCU has always had hologram technology present :P

Maybe by 2014 it's released to other corporate companies besides the presumed inventor (Stark) and the government/secret agencies (SHIELD).

Also, I would think that Peter's parents being shield agents would be a good plot device to connect to the MCU.

The "Young Peter" track reminds me of the Captain America movie in certain parts..

Well the title of that track is "Playing Basketball." There is no other "song" in that scene, unless there was something I missed.
He is not talking about when Peter dunked. I think he is talking about the scene where Peter is in the hallway and Flash throws a basketball at Peter's head.

''Panthers Discusion Photo Club'' - It was in this scene
Flash-ball struck him in the head and laughed, saying sorry

Chris Stuckmann´s review [YT]Lin7ZgdwYLs&feature=g-all-u[/YT]

Now i just need Doug Walker´s review
but overall everyone is liking it except Catherine:csad:

Something tells me that Doug is not gonna like it. He's very harsh on "been there, done that" kind of movies, just look at what he said about District 9, Gladiator or Avatar.

RT added a ton of reviews today. Currently at 74%.

My feeling is we didn't need another reboot and essentially a remake of the 2002 film which let's face it this movie basically is.

As a Spider-Man fan I'm just glad I got two different takes on the character that I can enjoy.

And 10 years imo is enough to reboot the franchise, I have no desire to wait until I can't even change my own diapers before seeing another Spider-Man movie in theatre.

No it isn't. But good try.
Yes it basically is.

10 years is not enough for a reboot. They should've just used the original trilogy as a jumping off point and gotten a new cast. Like the Bond films.

I mean, Curt Connors is the last man alive who knew anything about Richard Parker's work. It would make no sense to dispose of him before Peter learns the truth about everything.

So I guess you are really anticipating this film then ?

I don't see how it's a remake. Like... at all. The only parts which overlapped with SM1 were the parts they couldn't change: spider bite, discovering his powers, learning to use them, allowing Uncle Ben to die through inaction.

Yeah. Everyone would totally understand where the web shooters came from and why Gwen is his new girlfriend!

The only parts that are the same in both films are things that are essential to the Spider-Man mythos.

-Uncle Ben Dies.
-Peter is bit by a spider
-He dresses up in a red/blue outfit, can websling, shoot webbing, climb walls.
-His Aunt May and Uncle Ben raised him.
-He is a sceince nerd.

What else is the same?

Is MJ and Gwen interchangeable? Not even slightly.

Is the Lizard or his motivations in the film the same as Green Goblins? Nope.

Is the killing of Uncle Ben the same? Nope.

Is how Peter tracks the killer the same? Nope.

Is the way Spidey web-slings and moves even the same? Nope.

But yeah, same film. Good work.
