Kinda off topic, but I find it odd how the 3D at movies hurt my eyes, but my 3Ds doesn't at all.

The only reason I can think of is that 3D at the movies utilizes what's called passive technology (filters wavelengths of light). Most Home Theaters use active technology (shuts everything off alternately). I'd think the latter would be more stressful, but I was wrong once before and people are different I guess. I suppose it could be screen size, brightness, etc. too.

I would too. Don't know if it's already been covered but the Amazon listing wasn't accurate as I had this emailed to me from them:
Had a feeling that would be the case. They likely got a lot of pre-orders because of that "extended cut" version and are clarifying after I bet Marvel sent them some sort of notice that was meant to lessen any type of backlash against false advertising.

This is the best thing I've seen all week. Hawkeye singing about his powers. :D

Already got my tickets for a 2D showing tomorrow night at 11

Going to a 2D showing tomorrow at 7:30. Sooo frikken hyped.

There was a thread here that asked that question. Pretty much everyone doesn't recommend it.

There is no 2D option at my IMAX theater, so I am gonna have to go see it in 3D anyways. Hopefully the big/brighter screen helps.

Thanks, missed that thread entirely

I'm fine with the reviews, what is really getting me a little pissed is the ungrateful people throwing Joss under the bus for not making a perfect movie, dude almost wrecked himself making these films for us, and that is the thanks he gets, as if they could do better.

Yeah mixed reviews is one thing but they shouldnt bash Joss, he really put his blood sweat and tears into this film.

It seems pretty apparent that Joss put his all into this and made the best movie he was capable of making. Nobody can fault him for that. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I fully expect to enjoy it.

His comments about Coulson and SHIELD being taken down in TWS rubbed me the wrong way though. It may be a good thing that Marvel and Whedon are parting ways.

People throwing Joss under are crazy. Judging from critic response, this movie is no where near a train wreck. Its just simply a step down. You can't make a masterpiece every-time.

But you also have to admit that he could easily have done better, based on what people are reporting as weak spots (shallow character arcs/motivations, missing connective tissue, and repetitive action/plot from the first film.) Seems in his want of not making the film longer than TA1, he cut out stuff that would have made the film breath, characters feel fleshed out, and made for a better pace. Also, it seems in him not trying to to top the first one's action, he made it feel all to familiar and didn't push the film to levels he could have with the time and budget he had.

I must have watched a different Movie. I thought the opening sequence alone topped most of the action from the first Movie. And Ironman vs Hulk is easily one of the best fights I have ever seen in a comic movie.

It really sounds like the near 3 hr cut would have been the better move. I hope we get a special edition someday

Maybe , Maybe not, onyl way to tell is getting to see the deleted stuff, for all we know maybe it just wasn't up to par or was redundant, I'm thinking for a special edition a good 15 minutes would do the trick (based solely on what I've read)

Why? I definitely get a sense of his fatigue with the MCU in this film.

There are definitely some sloppy edits in this film. Characters appear and then suddenly disappear without a trace. Not sure if entire scenes would've helped, but definitely some continuity shots could've helped matters.

I think creative tensions and differences can create a better product in the end. But there is a point of diminishing returns. Once a relationship peaks it may be best to move on.

Joss is a great writer and director, but from some of his recent comments it really seems like he's ready to move on.

Yea it's really stupid. But honestly it just points out the people who are bandwagon fans.
