Seeing the movie tomorrow night at 10:15 with my sis and 4 other friends, so freaking excited. I know I'm gonna love the movie, I'm not one to nitpick about the lil things. If I leave the theater with a smile and the movie on my mind then it means I adored it. I left John Carter with that feeling, it's one of my favorite movies despite it bombing and getting a lot of bad reviews.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will have different ending on DVD

Just days after the Marvel film was released in cinemas, Amazon have told customers the DVD and Blu-Ray version will have an alternate ending

Avengers: Age of Ultron is yet to complete its opening weekend, but retailers are already whetting fans' appetites by promising an alternate ending and extended version of the film when the DVD and Blu-Ray versions are released later this year.

The film, which stars Scarlet Johansson, Robert Downey Jr and Mark Ruffalo in an ensemble superhero plot, isn't released in America for another week.

The extended version, complete with a different ending, was announced through an email online retailer Amazon.co.uk sent to its customers on Friday. The email read: "Avengers: Age of Ultron is available to pre-order on DVD and Blu-Ray, including an extended version and alternate ending."

Just so you know, Amazon put out an email today that said their initial email detailing the home release was inaccurate since Marvel has yet to provide them the actual information, which I doubt they would when it's not even released in the US yet.

I just purchased tickets to see AOU in 3D on Sunday morning with my family. Can't wait!

Two days remaining!

Yea I wait until Friday to see movies because that way I don't have to worry about anything the next day, Thursday being a school night and all ✌️

But it is only a difference of one day

This. Someone knows how to enjoy life.

I didn't love John Carter but I enjoyed it, especially the ending. It was satisfyingly emotional. Don't know why many people thought it sucked.

I am going to trying my best to ignore the reviews for AoU. Because I know I will like it better than the first Avengers.

I loved jc too!

I'm fine with the reviews, what is really getting me a little pissed is the ungrateful people throwing Joss under the bus for not making a perfect movie, dude almost wrecked himself making these films for us, and that is the thanks he gets, as if they could do better.

I'm not happy with the film. But I don't throw Whedon under the bus. Something is definitely off with this movie. It's too rushed and a lot of scenes don't have any meaning. It doesn't feel like a Whedon movie at all. Maybe, studio influence or something.

I'll see for myself tomorrow.

Just got my tickets for Friday night

NON 3D

2D tickets were not available last week - someone in SHH told me to wait a few days before the release

Good advice

It's not IMAX, but **** 3D

Ya, of course buddy. I don't want to ruin anyone's movie experience. You might love it.

I just expected a different movie from Whedon, following his work on the first avengers, much ado about nothing, serenity, buffy, firefly and even agents of shield. In those films and series, the action is a lot more slow and grounded with lots of interaction, dialogue and meaning. In this film, he tried a different approach with fast paced editing, an array of oneliners and showed things through images rather than through words and/or explanations.

Although in an interview he gave Vulture.com or Buzzfeed, he says this film is almost purely him distilled into a 2+ hour film, more so than any other thing he's worked on.

Telling the story through imagery/motion rather than talking is called CINEMA. Thats the reason why the artform was created.

My introduction to Joss was Avengers 1 so I dont know what a typical Joss film/TV show is like. Im just going by what hes said in interviews about AOU. He said that it is purely him in the movie. He wrote it/directed it. So how could it not be his work?

I seen people say this is one of the worse super hero movies. I am like you have to be trolling to say something like that. The WORST super hero flicks ever in my opinion are

Batman & Robin

X Men Origins Wolverine

Green Lantern

Super Man Returns

Hulk ( Ang Lee version)

Electra

Daredevil

X Men 3

As soon as I see it Ill be able to say if thats wrong or right. I def dont expect it to be one of the worst super hero films.

I didn't like Ironman 3, I didn't think Thor 2 was all that great, even Captain America I was nitpicky about, because of all the action being condensed into a montage. Heck, I even think Avengers wasn't that amazing, but simply a must see spectacle Movie. But I thoroughly enjoyed Age of Ultron.

Yeah I'm SURE I'm seeing 3D I guess it's ironic I am since the last one I guarded was 3d and 3 days ahead, but was more a test run.

Heh tried to get in here this morning when the Servers were being changed and panicked thinking "how am I going to do my review?" lol then that's not for another day yet lol

Well, maybe his style of filmmaking shifted and that's fine. But, whatever the case may be, you don't have any scene like the loki in the museum and then going against cap scene or the Mal rescuing Inara and then encontering the operative scene in Serenity. Those scenes had a beginning, middle and an end. In this film, there are many scenes and they are often too short, like tv clip short. It's just a different beast.

My local AMC theater only has one IMAX screening tomorrow night at 10:30pm and it's in 3D. It works out for me as my plan is to grab dinner, chat with a few friends, and then browse around the mall the theater is attached to until it gets close to the movie time. I plan to grab my tickets early as I want to get that poster and maybe a pair of those limited edition 3D glasses.

I know he said he wanted to combine a bunch of different genres in this one so that it'd feel different from the first but sometimes sticking to a genre or two to ground the film in can really help out the narrative. When you start mixing and matching multiple genres, you leave the film without an identity in which it really excels at. Also, it does seem as though Whedon didn't manage to find one solid theme to build the film around like he did last time.

First off, they are many styles of filmmaking. Directors can tell stories in a lot of different ways, through words, images, motion, interaction, music, etc. It just depends on the filmmaker. Some like to focus more on text and interaction, others focus more on imagery and motion. It doesn't have a formula and they don't do the same things.

Second, I'm not saying that this isn't his work. It just doesn't feel like much of his work. Like I said, maybe his style shifted and that's fine. I just preferred the old style rather than this apparent new one.

Some people seriously want to hate it, or just hate Marvel in general. I'm seeing tomorrow but there is no way it's even close to being the worst superhero movie ever. Ghost Rider 2 is still the worst for me, I HATED Nich Cage after that because the movie was atrocious.

Ryu: Well, Cinema is a visual artform, thats what the big screen was designed for. Its basically a canvas for filmmakers to fill it with visual imagery through direction/editing. The dialogue and music is of course part of it too. But Visuals are what make going to the movies so great for viewers. So if you see a visually interesting movie (Citizen Kane or 2001 etc etc), thats just great filmmaking.

I cant really analyze Joss' work like you since Im not as familiar with it. I am a movie geek and have watched a lot of films in my life. So Ill just be judging it as either a well crafted film or not. Im expecting it to be really good, but who knows what Ill feel like when its over.

So and so likes it. So and so doesn't like it. So and so was disappointed. So and so and on and on.....It doesn't have jack squat to do with what I or anyone else "will" think "after" we see it.

This thread is starting to kind of suck (IMO). I wish we were posting to the speculation thread. I guess I'll make up my own mind when I go see it in 3D IMAX with the latest technology available. I'll also be posting a review of the theater as I think I'm going to love the new digital IMAZING projection system.
