Was DOFP good? I want to see it next weekend.

It was very good, but still suffers from being Wolverine-centric, and alot of characters are just pure window dressing.

To me the best way to state this movie is, this is Fox's $200 million dollar apology for ******* up the films after Singer left.

I'm so excited to see well James Spader does as Ultron! I don't want to but I know I will go into this film with such high expectations although it'll no doubt be a very good looking second film

Very disappointing about Edgar Wright leaving. It could be something over Marvel wanting setups for MCU links. Just speculation but that might mean more likelihood of Ant man appearing in an Avengers film one day. Still this is just bad news overall.

Could have done with a bit more action towards the end, but otherwise amazing for anyone who liked the previous films and still good for some of those that didn't.

I haven't liked X-Men ever since they completely destroyed Cyclops' character in X2 and X3. Wolverine is alright, but aside from him and Storm those are the only two I like since they massacred the entire idea of Cyclops.. I like Ellen Page, but I don't really remember what her character even did in those movies, been so long. I've never really been a fan of the whole 'academy' type stuff and whatnot.

And that sucks about Wright leaving Ant Man. Hope they can transition it easily or whatever they gotta do.

As for Avengers 2, I think it will be on a larger scale than A1. I mean, I know A1 was a big budget film, but I feel like it was pretty contained until the big finale at the end of the movie. A2 feels like it will be less contained and more 'out there'.

It's now my second favourite X-Men movie, just behind X2.

Definitely worth a watch.

I don't believe being hot is a prerequisite for landing one of these leads
Like others have said, it's all about the acting chops
and "The middle" is f***ing horrible, so I have no confidence in her acting abilities

all that said, if I'm being honest, it would be nice to have someone at least moderately attractive as Carol

Women get Evans, Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Downey and Ruffalo (charming), and now possibly ATJ to oogle.
while the men have gotten Scarlett, Colby, and now little Olsen (and personally I don't find any of the three very attractive, Pepper is prob the only one I find crushable, and that's in a girl-next-door kinda way)
If they can find talented AND attractive men, they can do it for women too

Pepper is too mom-ish.
Scarlett has a nice body but her dead-eyes look she always has going makes her average.

I really disliked the selective continuity, the erasing of everything after X1, and future Xavier's concern for Raven and calling her a sister, when he didnt know who she was in the previous movies; maybe she has to be an Oscar-winning actress to help him to jog his memory

^^ It is weird that it took all this time for it to happen. Edgars been working on the film since 2006, to have him be replaced at this point makes no sense. Wouldnt they all be together by now on how Ant Man was going to be done?

Support for who? Edgar Wright? But if Marvel somehow secretly consider Wright in the wrong, then Whedon shouldn't publicly be seen to support him since he is employed by Marvel himself.

Joss holding up a Cornetto to me says: Heres to Edgar (unless hes really holding it up to say: Edgars fault). I dont think he'd do something like that.

People should accept this and just move on. Edgar Wright has made a few fun movies but hes not the grandmaster of cinema.

Well we saw how Pietro was personality wise in DOFP. Tbh, he really reminded me of the Pietro from X-Men Evolution. How do you think Joss will portray Pietro's personality in AOU? Maybe show the more angry side of the character and such? And it also does help that he has Wanda with him to show another side to his character.
