Sooo...... back to those Thor pictures (JustJared I believe has some that weren't included in HunBoy's post). It looks like in some of them there's a dusting of snow on the ground... something Thor has done or just 'local weather' and not relative to the story??

Most likely local weather - someone on twitter said there's actors/extras wearing winter camo there.

I dont try to figure it out. I just watch the movie and accept it is what they say BECAUSE ITS A SCIENCE FICTION MOVIE!!

Why would anyone watch a super hero movie and question the logic? Its basically pointless. None of it is real. I repeat NONE OF IT IS REAL.

I wasn't questioning the logic of the movie, just the logic of not counting iron mans kills.

But I really do think thors enhancements in the movies are due to technology not magic.

look at how loki flickers, definitely an imperfect technology. All their "powers" are most likely brought with advanced tech and dna manipulation. Thor hasn't controlled the weather without the hammer just like iron man hadn't shot a rocket out of his arm without his suit. Anyway, its safe to say at this point that its still up for debate where the line between advanced science and magic is in the MCU

Anyways I think so far all the characters have been made or presented based on (loose) science. We have yet to see real Magic I think.

The Avengers cast doing a lot of good things outside of shooting. First it's the "Marvel for Strat" thing (any progress on that? How's Strat?) and now what Ruffalo has been doing.

Nope. Anyone can wield Mljonir as long as they are worthy. Thor is a God in the MCU and it has been said by several people within the MCU. He's way stronger than your average human being. Don't kid yourself. MCU Thor has been nerfed, I don't think anyone can deny that BUT not to the extent you're describing here. Watch his fights with the Frost Giants, Kurse and Malekith to know that Thor is not like a human or in your case, "not much different than human."



LOL Thor lost ALL of his powers in the first Thor film. He was turned from an Asgardian to a normal human being. Seriously do you even pay attention when you watch these films?

If you can simply "undo" asguardian (in the mcu, which is what we're discussing), then it just ain't natural born talent. Its alterations (technology) that can be undone with the flick of a switch.

Thor is unlike a human with his asgardian technology (in the mcu).

And he is referenced to be "like" a God. Not "A" God.

I'll be pissed off too. Dr Strange should be something entirely different. We're talking different dimensions and what not. I think we should judge how they're going to handle Stephen Strange by how Wanda's powers will work in this movie. Because in the Cap 2 mid- credits scene, she pretty much combined those two blocks into one and you could see the pink stuff around her hands as she levitated the blocks.

I think Wandas powers will definitely be a precursor to the whole Dr Strange/ supernatural side of the MCU. It should be pretty awesome too. Lots of interesting possibilities visually, itll open up another layer of the MC universe.

That was never about offending religious people. It was about Marvel being worried that suddenly jumping into gods and mythology would seem too "out there" after movies about two science-based heroes (junk science as a may be), so they thought people would buy into the concept if they made them space aliens who inspired Norse mythology instead.

If you look at it pretty much across the board they tried to downplay more fantastic or out there stuff in the movies. Joss Whedon even said he was told to downplay the more overt Asgardian stuff in the Avengers.
