is there a reason there are over 2,000 people viewing this forum.
in the week the batman forum had 800 people viewing the forum but that was the release of the new trailer. so what gives?

*waving at all 2,000 people*

I'm gonna wager that they're anticipating the release of the movie on Friday. But, maybe that's just me :woot:

Apparently tons of those guests are just viewing the main page of the Avengers forum, because when you click in some of the more popular threads here there aren't hundreds viewing them. This one for instance says around 25 viewing it right now.

I think you're understimating this movie's potential for the OW. This will do crazy cash. This could very well cross the 200 millions in the USA quite easily.

As for so many people lurking the forums, the whole ****in' planet fell in love with The Avengers. It's almost coming your time, mates! A little bit more than 36 hours...

Okay, so...

Mighty Money!!! THE AVENGERS swooped up $42.3M yesterday. Total is now $260.5M!!!

‘Avengers’ Now $260.5M Overseas: Could Reach $585M Worldwide Through Sunday With U.S., Canada, Russia, China Openings

EXCLUSIVE: My sources estimate the juggernaut that is Marvel’s The Avengers could close in on $160M when it opens in North America this weekend and $425M when it debuts in Russia and China for a possible total near $585M through Sunday. Even very conservative estimates put the worldwide total through Sunday at $450M. Yesterday alone The Avengers made $42.3M overseas, bringing the total through Tuesday to $260.5M. Meanwhile, Fandango reports a surge in advance ticket sales for The Avengers which is scooping up 94% of today’s pre-sales. Marvel’s superhero ensemble is currently outpacing last summer’s blockbuster Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon at the same point in that film’s sales cycle.

:wow: That is all.

Doing my part. Bought 4 tickets for tomorrows midnight show.

YOU ARE UNDERESTIMATING AVENGERS , HERE IN BRAZIL THE MOVIE BROKE THE OPENING WEEKEND RECORD OF ALL TIME and many theaters continue with many sold out

This is interesting:
Some 66% of fans said they plan to see the pic on the big screen more than once. About 31% chose Iron Man as the film’s biggest draw, followed by The Hulk (23%); Thor (15%), and Captain America (12%). And 52% said Black Widow is the next Avengers character they’d like to see in a solo vehicle, followed by 35% for Hawkeye, and 13% for Nick Fury.

I thought girls couldn't lead movies! :p

Oh boy, sounds like the final numbers will be impressive indeed :wow:, just like the 2547 people viewing this forum right now, wow! That has to be some record lol

If $160m is the prediction we can put that opening record at risk. Go back and watch it again on Saturday & Sunday!

I bought 6 tickets for my family to go watch, and I intend to see it another 2 times this weekend.

Outpacing DOTM?? Welllll... Alrighty then!

I have a feeling I'm gonna see this again Saturday night in regular 2D.

I just realised, fater tonight, it will have ALOT more too, as it's 2 tickets for the price of 1 tonight at any main cinema that every casual viewer tends to go to. EVERY time I've been in the evening it's been absolutely packed, even if there wasn't a big movie on. So tonight is going to be MASSIVE. Can't wait to see the reports come in tomorow.

Good work sir. A few more guys like you and we'll be there.

So happy for them. This thing is blowing up Box Offices worldwide!

We brought 4 tickets for this Sunday so we're doing our part. :word: I really hope it will gross at least 150 mil in its OW.

Think about what an achievement it's gonna be, considering how new the actual Marvel Film studios really is.
Its an achievement in film-making and planning also. Not just in the cbm realm either. Not many movies make this much cash, or have the hope of doing so. And an enormous amount of planning went into this film. And it all worked out and payed off. Bravo.

Bigger than THG was for Lionsgate!

Disney will be thanking their lucky stars that they'll have something positive to report for 2nd Q earnings after the debacle that was John Carter.

However as good as Avengers is going to do (and Brave for Pixar), I have a feeling Disney will miss their earnings for the year. That's how bad of a bomb John Carter was.
