Action-Adventure The 'Back To The Future' Appreciation Thread - Part 2

Has anyone been reading the IDW Back to the Future comics? They are pretty great!

I forgot about those. How many issues are out, and are they done with their run? I'll look into getting them.

It's still ongoing! To date there are 6 issues. The comics are mostly framed around tales that Doc tells Clara and their children Jules and Verne about his life and friendship with Marty. This is setup after Marty goes back to the future for the last time in the third film and before Doc comes back to the future too with his family.

#1
When Marty Met Emmet
It's a little fun story about the first meeting of Marty and Doc and how the young Marty became his lab assistant.

Looking for a few good scientists.
It deals around Doc Brown involvement in the Manhattan Project when Doc Brown was a young excentric professor at Caltech.

#2
The Doc Who Never Was

After the events of the first film, Doc Brown finds himself needing a lot of money in order to complete a functional version of the flux capacitor. Old figures from his past involvement in the Manhattan Project come with the request that would give the army a unlikely and powerful weapon that could lead to terrible consequences.

Science Project
A little funny story about Marty trying to make an assignment for school and trying to make sense of some of Doc's other inventions.

#3
In search of Calvin Marty Klein

George McFly and Lorraine relationship is in trouble time after the events of the first film and there's only one person who can help them: Calvin Klein! In his absence, Doc tries to fix the situation with hilarious and endearing results.

Jurassic Biff
Mean Old Biff Tannen steals the Delorean in the future to travel to the past in order to give important information to his younger self... only he doesn't know how to operate the time machine and winds up farther than expected...

#4
Peer Pressure

Marty McFly meets Jennifer and tries to be with her, only to be mocked by Needles in his truck. Feeling embarrassed by his lack of wheels, Marty becomes tempted to use the secret vehicle Doc has been working on.

Emmet Brown visits the future
We find out how it went the first trip of Doc Brown into the far away future of 2015! Also how he managed to get money in order to make the Delorean a flying vehicle.

#5
Clara's Story
This is a very personal and heartwarming tale about the life of Clara Clayton, her hopes and dreams.

And I haven't yet read #6, but it is building into something awesome!

in the letter Doc wrote to Marty in Part III said he cant fix the Delorean's time circuits cause 'suitable parts won't be invented until 1947', Doc is a smart guy couldn't he just 'invent them' himself?

Nevermind.

Maybe he would've eventually, but you gotta remember, Biff killed him, so he wasn't in the 1800s that long.

But we do know he eventually did with Claire, when he was stuck there. That's how he built the flying train.

well he was in the old west for 8 months (arrived Jan 1st died Sept 7th ;) ).

Yeah, but by the time he invented the train, he had two kids. It probably took him some time.

I wish I could go back to the beginning of the season and put some money on the Cubbies. :awesome:

My son turned 3 last month and is starting to get into TV and cartoons more. Can't wait until he's a little older and I can start to show him classics like BTTF. Though he'll probably think it looks ancient.

BTTF is my Dad's favourite Trilogy. I have a lot of time for it too. My son sat with me last weekend to watch part 2. I really hope he ends up enjoying them as much as my dad & I do. They are timeless.

& what I'd do for a Sports Almanac book & a time machine!!!

With the exception of the false 2015, just show him the films on Blu Ray. If te transfers are anywhere as good as the transfers on the most recent Ghostbuster Blu Rays, the films will look brand new.

was watching Scorpion last night and they had Lea Thompson as Paige's con artist mother who hired the team and in the episode they were being shot at by somebody she did wrong to, but what made the scene so great was she said "they found me, I don't know how, but they found me" :awesome: .

Oh and Tuesday is the 27th anniversary of BTTF part II ;)

Ok, I have a question for my fellow BTTF fans. In BTTF part 3, Marty finds the grave of Doc and it says "Erected to eternal memory by his beloved CLARA". My question is, how did Doc even meet Clara when Marty wasn't there? The only reason they met before was because DOC and Marty went scouting for locations and a snake spooked her horse. Doc would have had no reason to be out there without Marty. Am I missing something? Did Marty intervene somehow where they met differently? Am I going crazy and need to pay more attention to the movie!? :p Help!
