I was just thinking, what would actually be a bigger culture shock, a teenager from 1985 transported to 1955 or a teenager from 2015 transported to 1985?
I thought there was more footage than that of Stoltz.
BTTF most likely wouldn't have been as big a success if Stoltz had remained the lead. Michael J. Fox was a major factor of why the movie was such a huge hit.Losing the role was probably deeply embarassing for him, and I'm sure all the renewed passion for the series this past week stung, to know he missed out on that fame/success.
For a middle class white kid like Marty McFly, I would go with 2015 to 1985 for sure. No Internet. No smart phones. No social media. 1955 and 1985 weren't as different as that.
For a minority though, I think going back to the pre-Civil Rights Era would be the larger culture shock.
Man Back to the Future would have been so different had that been the film's basis.
I'm actually surprised something like that hasn't been released?

Has it ever been suggested that M.J. Fox could have made a great Peter Parker?
Don't buy it in stores, its like $50... online they have it at $30 and then there is a 15% off code and I paid only $27 with tax.

i am having a hard time beliving that on that day Zemeckis told him to act different. Here's some Stolz footage. It's only a couple of shots but you can see just how serious he's taking it, especially in that last scene with Doc.
