Action-Adventure The 'Back To The Future' Appreciation Thread - Part 2

Rewatching the trilogy with my girlfriend again recently. Part 3 tonight. Don’t care what anybody says I still love Part 3. This is simply just one of the best trilogies, never get tired of it.
All 3 films are masterpieces, but I actually prefer part 3 over part 2!

the video game by telltale was awesome i love that Michael played the adult version of the baby who was Marty's ancestor.

As I get older I'm starting to like Part III a bit more than Part II, yes I agree.
Although that "let's go back to the first film from a different point of view" is still GENIUS.

I actually wasn't that fond of Part III as a kid. After going to the (then) future in Part II, I remember being annoyed that the whole movie took place in the Old West. But as I got older and developed more of an affinity for westerns, I came around on Part III. I rate II and III about equally. Neither is good at the first but Part III has at least aged much better than Part II the further we get from 2015. The train sequence is also a better third act setpiece than basically retreading the events of the first movie.

Part III is very underrated. It has a lot of great character moments and emotional beats. Some great stuff between Doc and Marty.

I always see 2 and 3 as one very large movie while the first can just stand on its own.

Really it depends what mood I’m in, but I do love the emotion of 3 and how it’s more of Doc’s story over Marty.

And Christopher Lloyd’s only onscreen kiss!

I also prefer Part III over Part II. But yes the whole trilogy is brilliant.

Yup. And it also adds a layer to Doc Browns character specifically. Through the past he found love, and I have to say the ending of that film never ceases to choke me up haha.

Such an iconic car, it really is... lightning In a bottle.

Same with Ecto 1..

Got me thinking, what more contemporary movie has been as iconic as those from the 80s - I struggle.

I would say the batmobile from 1989 Batman

well this sucks the damn thing is sold out (been for weeks) at the lego.com site and the scalpers are already selling up to 50% more than MSRP. I have a Lego store in Buffalo (which is about 1hr 30m away) but alas my car is out of commission so even if they came in stock I have no way to get it and they do not ship even if you pay for it over phone. I am hoping to be in that area next weekend when I see Top Gun and they have it in stock again.

This better not be a way of them trying to remake the original

New Doc Brown

-Zach galifianakis

Now has crypto currency. He's running from some people he lost his fortune too. He also spent most of his fortune trying to buy that new Delorean

Sound about right?

Not happening because Zemeckis and Gale won't allow it. Now, the franchise in other mediums? Absolutely. But never a remake. As we have seen the franchise lives on in video games, the Back to the Future musical, various books, the BTTF ride, the board game and the short lived animated series in the 90's. I don't think they have made an audio version of the franchise as of yet (basically an audio book version of the franchise) but I could be mistaken.

How can you guys forget about the cartoon series

Yep. It’s special that way over everything else.

And funny enough, its popularity has only grown without having to keep making more.
