It’s a great idea and it creates a domino effect in his mind, where he believes that his fortune is a poison that he doesn’t need. After spending so much time away from his wealth in Gotham, he’s developed this attitude that it’s all bull**** (he’s not exactly wrong). He builds a suit, a car, a cycle for cheap. Using a lot of spare parts and his knowledge. For 2 years he’s done well for himself in his crusade. Criminals fear him. People generally don’t suspect him. Several freaks have been tossed in Arkham Asylum. Then good people who want to make a difference start dying. And real issues are brought to his attention that he can’t ignore. Poverty. Funding in all the wrong places. Orphans in poor living conditions (which hits home because Bruce was privileged to grow up in Wayne Manor after his parents were killed). He decides to change his mindset for the better of Gotham and himself.Another fairly simple explanation for the more "cheap" aesthetic could be that it's to avert further suspicion. By having a cheap looking bike, it'd make people think it can't be Bruce Wayne because he could afford more expensive looking vehicles.
What if the batmobile and batcycle are intentionally designed as sleepers to avert suspicion? Am I the only one who thinks that'd be a really neat idea?
I personally think the Batcycle looks cool but a bit generic. If I see it on the street I won't know that it's Batman related at all.
Nah, that was just someone testing the batcycle, they weren't even filming then. The thing is that based on earlier set pictures of some guys with clown make up driving the same motorcycle as Batman. These are the same goons we saw in the January set photos. So I'm thinking either it's a generic bike which he took from them to escape or the other way around.

Plus:If you zoom closer, it looks like the guy has pasty white skin rather than white makeup. The decription is just "A man with black eye make up on sits on a motorcycle as filming continues in Glasgow for a new movie for the Batman superhero franchise. "![]()

I can’t even discuss DC movies with my friends anymore due to all the negativity.
the snyder era of movies really did a number on the image of the brand. Now we get a new Batman that’s completely separate from the previous era and people can’t wait to tear apart the very little that they’ve seen so far.
so tired of that crap.
I'm completely down for a more low tech and subtle Batcycle and Batmobile if that's what we are really getting in this movie, especially if he is intentionally trying to stay under the radar. For stealth purposes it would make a lot of sense and would also be a pretty cool idea since it's something we haven't quite seen done in these movies before.
People seem to have a really hard time readjusting to something more stripped down. Nolan was gritty. Marvel was more fantastical (and for better or worse a trend setter) and plenty of people dreamed about Batman going into less grounded direction. But apparently Reeves pushed it even further into gritty territory. It feels much more Year One than anything that came before. I'm personally super-happy. Year One is one of my absolute favorites.
