THE BATMOBILE THREAD

Well... It's not another "tank-car".

So... There's that.

Outside of that... Eh.

Skirts are completely at ground level.

No it’s not. The Tumblr was a masterpiece and was a tank car... that was very practice and “elemental”.

Snyder tried to replicate it while adding in Burton/Arkham aspects and he utterly failed. He made a very impractical and busy/ugly elongated machine.

This is a beefy version of a ‘70s roadster that is inspired by Bugatti and maybe Mad Max.

This is going to be a gritty detective story with bat****(pun intended) gadgets. That sounds awesome.

I’d love a good Batman film that aesthetically resembles the comics one day, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other interpretations that can’t be awesome. Batfleck proved comic aesthetics don’t inherently equal a good film.

Agreed! That was so damn ugly

Fans are so fickle. I remember everyone ****ing all of their laptop screens when the Snyder Batmobile was first shown. In fact that goes for a lot of stylistic elements about Snyder's take. It's only when everyone realised that the movies themselves sucked that suddenly the baby got thrown out with the bathwater. Anyways i'm digging this new Batmobile.

Burtonmobile obviously stills reigns supreme, but I can see this ranking highly for me.

This atmosphere... looks like a car who would fight an Arthur Fleck induced riot

The thing is, batmobiles before Burton were mostly customized cars, or concept cars, of that specific time. If we're really going for that approach, maybe they should've used a current car to customized, or upcoming concept cars, or even something military grade if he's waging some war on crime. You'd think a supposed billionaire can do better than stealing Dom's car from the FF series. I mean is he supposed to save the city, or enter as a contestant on Netflix's Hyperdrive?
This one is also customized. Look at that giant booster in the back and the subtle fins. Having an ordinary car has it's own merits (harder to track, easier to assemble and fix, easier to handle since it's not some monster on 4 wheels, plus there's more room for upgrades in case the story gets a continuation). Of course it probably won't mean anything to people who just dislike it on pure aesthetic level. Not everyone is a fan of muscle cars or just want Batman to use something that has more "wow" effect to it visually. Yet it has nothing to do with saving the city. He can do it using this car alright.

This is literally his second year as Batman. I think he’s more concerned about kicking criminals teeth out than some wings on his car. There’s always time for updrades.

Hell, even the animated series Batmobile didn’t exactly have wings.
Somehow I get the feeling this was supposed to be a rough stern reply to a simple neutral comment I stated.

Batman driving a freaking badass juiced up muscle car?

Between the cowl* and the Batmobile, who'd have thought one of the more obvious inspirations for Reeves' film would be the '60s series. I'm now intrigued more than anything else.

* Not to say that it looks especially like the '60s cowl... but I do think it looks more akin to the '60s cowl than any other preceding look.

It is what it is I guess. I love me some muscle cars, but I'd imagine Batman driving something more like a customized Reventon, or if we wanna go more classic, a custom Diablo or Countach or something, not a Dodge Charger wannabe.

I’m not a fan of the suit at all but the batmobile I dig a lot. Instantly gave me some “Blade” vibes which I absolutely loved.

I mean Blade is basically a vampire Batman. :D

The car, the gadgets, the old “mentor”, the skills, the black armoured outfit, bats/vampires, the cave/warehouse...

I like that's it's a return to the classic sleeker design!

Let's see how it moves in film.

I wasn't one of those people honestly. something always seemed off about it for me, but to each their own.

Just for the record. I grew up at drag race tracks and in hot rod garages. I love hot rods and race cars. I love thousands of horsepower literally vibrating my chest. I love the feel of being pushed into the seat when a hot rod launches off the line. As a custom hot rod I like this car.

But its underwhelming that this batman is taking everyday vehicles and just slapping batmotifs and custom parts on it. I want more from Batman.

Hopefully Reeves delivers in the action department and story. If he does that at least it will balance my disappointment with the batgear.

It's definitely NOT the more overtly fantastical take I was hoping for. I mean, after Nolan you'd think someone a little more out there would step up to the plate. But I guess they found their formula and after the ****show Snyder gave everyone, well...

The Bat Max Mobile :word: I love it

They're really going for an industrial look to the film aren't they? Seems like something Bruce made at a mechanics shop.

Who remembers the Alfred the Mechanic rumors way before "Batman Begins" was proposed?

You may be mixing it up with the "Big Al" mechanic (a substitute for Alfred) in Aronofsky's Y1 script.

Honestly at this point I expect Bruce to be living in a mechanic garage and that will be his batcave.

The garage was always a big part of the Batcave, and it's an oft-neglected one. I'm fine with seeing some more time spent on fixing things/putting them together VS finding them on a shelf or under a tarp at Applied Sciences.

Maybe we'll finally get Mechanic Robin who lives in the treetops in the park.

Could we all stop pretending that this Batmobile is the kind of thing that just anyone can slap together? There's a rocket on the back of this thing.
