Didn't that script have him lose his fortune, and there's no Alfred, and the Alfred/mentor figure is some mechanic from an auto shop where the batmobile is built? How can you say it's even more faithful when some of the core aspects of it is already different, if indeed he doesn't lose his fortune in this film.this is VERY much like an even more faithful rendition of the Aronofsky Year One script
That’s why I said it’s more faithful ... the superficial elements such as that. Based on the vast majority of what we’ve seen and heard it’s more than a little bit similar.Didn't that script have him lose his fortune, and there's no Alfred, and the Alfred/mentor figure is some mechanic from an auto shop where the batmobile is built? Nice to see Bruce saving some pennies, lol. Seriously though, I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, but this again looks kinda average. I come back to the idea that the only way to do a grounded Batman in the wake of Nolan was to strip away even more of the comic book feel to the character. The Tumbler might be a practically designed vehicle, but it's not really a practical vehicle. This is the type of car anyone person could buy do up themselves. It's funny to think of all the debates that we've had over the years about Nolan not being comfortable with comic book aesthetics and yet this film is making his look entirely fantastical. Honestly, like the suit, this is kinda the only way they could do a more grounded take on Batman that didn't walk on Nolan's shoes. The results so far just look underwhelming.
Araonofsky's script was Bat **** crazy. I believe Gordon was an alcoholic.
That’s on periodt.
I'd like to see a Mad Max (V8 Interceptor) style Batmobile.
Robin can hang off the side of it likeMay I quote myself (from about a month ago or so)?
So happy!![]()
Issues with the costume notwithstanding, I’m liking the idea of a low-tech Batcycle, and hope the same goes for the Batmobile.
Okay, so I’m on the fence a bit but I think I like it.
Pros:
1. It’s pretty simplistic(reminiscent of the early comics)
2. Somewhat incognito, the other batmobiles are massive beasts that would hardly fit on the road and give villains a head ups that he’s coming. Would probably be pulled over by cops left and right and draw attention constantly. This (whilst the back is brightly lit) is pretty low-key and doesn’t look much different than your average car show car.
Cons:
1. Leaves a bit to be desired, doesn’t look like a true batmobile and looks more like a moded Camaro that some Tom, Dick or Harry could have made.
2. The doors, looks like they’re normal car doors and frankly that just looks silly.. every batmobile should have a top roof entrance imho.
Also, and maybe this is nit picky.... but Pattinson looks incredibly scrawny.. but overall.. this movie still has my interest.. some intriguing choices but no absolute dealbreakers yet.
I don't think I actually see any doors. The side panels look welded shut to me. I think he might have to slid in and out of the window like a race car driver.
I guarantee you that this will be just as loud, if not louder. This has a bigger engine than The Tumbler, and it's straight-piped right out of the roof.A tank is too loud and attracts attention
