BvS The Batsuit Thread - Part 10

I really like the webbing. It's like a rubber overlay over the classic cloth suit. That one looks like it can withstand bullets AND rain.

Here's how I imagine it the materials-

The suit's texture is like this, but with the pattern being 3D and raised:

With a gabardine cloth overlay:

The cape is like this:

And the cowl, gauntlet, boots etc. like this:

Gloves (under gauntlets):

Bullet, weather, knife, and yes... dog & cat resistant, while still allowing a lot of flexibility.

Those gifs of Bales Batman perching are incredible, I suppose those are from the SE boxset which at this point I now know I need to go buy tonight lol.

^ It's weird, but I feel like the movies where Nolan has the least amount of creative control tend to look the most visually striking.

It's like because he has less focus on building "the perfect story" that he can give actual aesthetics to the art design and camera angles.

That being said, I think Inception is one of his most aesthetically pleasing features. Like he went wild knowing that he can spend as much money as he wanted in a film.

Did he have a lot of control on Memento? For me, that's his best story and quite grand visually.

Insomnia was genius visually. And Robin Williams proved in it that he'd make a damn great villain too...

I don't know, I love me some Nolan, and wish he had brought more of the stuff from his non Bat movies into his Bat movies. When he said BB was going to be a $200million art film, I was thinking... ART film. A Batman art film would be great!

I just don't see "the perfect story" in ANY of the Bat films he did. Something along the lines of his other work, where story really was mind bendingly cool, would have been so damn cool.

^ I don't know. Too many bare walls in Memento ;)

I thought Following had a more effective use of lighting and composition.

Watching Superman/Batman: Apocalypse I definitely want claws. Even if only to set this batman apart from what came before.

Kay. I need to know why these weren't in the movie. Especially the first one.

God damn you, Nolan :o.

Could't agree more. These are awesome. So much so that I actually stopped lurking and logged in to address the matter. Missed you guys (and gals) :yay:

the claw thing is cool looking in that cartoon, but functionally, do we want poor Batman's palms getting cut up whenever he makes a fist?

And if it's just for looks, to look like a creature of the night, I'd have to insist on these:

On a different note, found this pretty sweet Batman Beyond suit which I'd love the hell out of if they ever make a BB movie.

Just wanna be clear I'm NOT advocating for the Paul Pope approach for ol' Ben. Just saying that if he's going to wear claws, the only reason would be to look like a demon, and if he does that, he might as well go all the way. I personally love the Paul Pope design (and R Grampa one which is very Pope influenced), but not for Batfleck. For Batfleck, BatFan1979 and I have it nailed ;)

BattleAngel, can you docter up the gloves/ gauntlets in our coop manip if you get time? I like those gloves you posted earlier.

I dunno, I'll take claws over sausage fingers that don't look like you can press a small digit or grab a dime off the street any day of the week.

Maybe they'll find something in the middle.

I would consider those skin tight gloves with the artificial finger prints that hostage rescue types use.

I don't think a dime would be a much bigger deal than this, eh?

First off, we don't have much to worry about. Here are Night Owl's gloves. They are pretty sweet.

For that matter, we don't need to worry in general. The closer we get to the ultimate manips, the more secure I feel that Snyder approached the same material the same way, but with people who aren't only fans, but paid big time $$ to get it right. So I think there is a fairly good chance we'll get something close to BatFan/my suit, but with better design details. I have a really good feeling in my gut that Snyder also knows that the white eyes turn Affleck into Batman, and not just Batfleck, and he's good enough with CG elements and mocap to kill the eyes and cape dead to rights awesome.

But since glove porn is fun, here are some ideas. (I'm not going to re-manip the above image I posted because I can't get any of the photos I have of the gloves I like to look good with the angles of the main pic).

First off, the BodyGuard stunner.

PSC0611_IN_354.jpg

BodyGuard is a wearable, hands-free weapon that is equipped with a stunner, high-definition video camera, laser pointer and flashlight.

Alternately, a metal mesh (which could also be done with non-metal plates made out of the kind of material I've described in my other recent posts):

A variation of that is these kind of medieval gloves, where there are many articulating plates. Again, this wouldn't be done with a knights-of-the-roundtable material choice or bulkiness, but rather made of articulating plates of hi tech, low weight bullet proof material.

That way, the outer hand could be 100% armored, with a nimble underside with skin tight fabric for extremely nimble needs.

For fun and looks, I like sculpted leather with high tech material accents:

I really like the bodyguard stunner design, very slick looking. the metal mesh one is cool but not very Batmannish, Could look cool for an Aquaman armor though.

Someone mentioned this a while back so this is no way my idea, but what would you all say to a mostly cgi'd batsuit?that would be so annoying to have look at a green Ben affleck until god knows when....

I'd like that, maybe with Beyond capabilities so he can put his finger on the window and hear what they're talking about inside.

I'd love to see this adapted into live action. Although, they'd probably get rid of the trunks

P.S I'd also love to see the Batman: TAS Batmobile in live action form.

Here's an attempt at creating a real life version of the B:TAS batmobile:

Love the engine sound.
