I quoted Regwec word for word - thought the gag was pretty obvious? Ah well, at least the person it was intended for got it, so no harm done.
the mainstream, armored Batman that's popular with the general public.
Hey everybody, I've been stalking your thread for a good two months, and I created an account so that I could jump in with you!
So I'll just get started: @Alex_Spider: What kind of problems do you have with the new 52 Batsuit? I think it's a great compromise between the classic suit and the mainstream, armored Batman that's popular with the general public. The only thing I don't like about it is that utility belt -- I love pouches. Other than that, I think it's great!

This is a great basis for a perfect batsuit.
Can anyone add the Batman 89 belt buckle to this, the Arkham Origins cowl, the BvS comic con Bat symbol, remove the two dots on both of his legs, and get rid of the two rows of angled rectangles on both of Batman's boots

Sorry no AO cowl.

Damn, I don't know why every time I post an image it gets reduced in size. Have to right click on it and open in new window to see full size.

Hello,
There are a few presumptions at work here. The general public has never been asked its opinion, nor has it been offered any alternatives.
Alright, that's true -- I was just referencing that the Batman that most people are familiar with, Christian Bale, wears an armored batsuit. I agree that a cloth suit would look much better, and will become more popular once the public is offered that alternative. For now, though, the majority of people view the Batsuit as the Christian Bale, jigsaw puzzle variation. That's all I meant.
Alex_Spider, I see where you're coming from, especially with the "shiny" aspect. How it was drawn by Jim Lee for Justice League -- if that's what you're referring to by the shiny way it's drawn -- is not something I like much at all. I think it looks too much like armor. But, Greg Capullo's version from the Batman comic looks a lot better IMO. It looks like a cloth suit, and most of those seams you talked about don't bother me much. I'm not one hundred percent saying we need them, but I don't hate the lines either. I don't think they compromise the iconic nature of the suit whatsoever.
Welcome, The-Bat-Man! Nice to have you on the thread. I think the New 52 gets a little too much flack (fleck?). As you say, Capullo's version is pretty damn good. Nothing to whine about here:

Thanks, BattleAngel. Where is that pic from? I don't remember it from any of the comics, though it looks like it's maybe a cover.
P.S. @Young Superman: your avatar is seriously my favorite thing.
Not sure where it's from. Just turned up in an image search.
My personal favorite artist for Batman is David Finch. Here's a Batfleck image I just whipped up using a Finch pic for the base. Just the typical thing - an Affleck face blended in (I don't do as good a job with this part as BatFan1979 does, but there's more to putting Affleck's face in a pic than just cut and paste =P), the glow for the eyes, and a bit of shading all over the suit.

I'd LOVE to see Affleck's mouth imposed into Sale's artwork (in particular, his 90s books). He's my absolute FAVORITE artist for the character.
^ Really like that. Finch's art looks like a mix of Micheal Turner and Jim Lee's art, in the best possible way.
But anyway, here's a good Long Halloween image to manip

Just a super quick crack at it... this is obviously tricky because the original has so little in the way of shading, so I added some very quick shading to make the face stick out a little less as the only shaded element. My shading skills kinda suck, and doing it on a laptop is tricky, but I usually do this kind of shading in all of my pictures (am I allowed to call them manips again? haha). It adds a lot more when the base image isn't quite so stark - helps the various foreign elements fit in better.

No matter HOW I feel like he is as an actor..I felt like I'm seeing my dream come true.

It really is uncanny how much Affleck looks like Batman stepped straight off the page. I am still extremely excited. I just hope Ben can continue to work out and get his physique where it should be.
